I ran into a sure 'nuff hero today!!!

He was in his Class "A" uniform, complete with green beret. He was a SGM with 5th group he said.

Lets examine some things:

*Was wearing a 5th SFGA VN flash (w/crest) on his Green Beret.
* Had SGT E-5 chevrons on sleeve, and Major on his epaulettes, thus,"SGM",right:P
*had "old" 5th SFGA para-oval,with jump wings and 3 combat jump stars!!
(told ya' , a real "zero"--I mean,"Hero")
* pants were AG 344 and jacket was AG 489-even in low light could tell the color diference.
* Had Army,USAF,and I guess USCG and ROTC or something ribbons, all out of order,on his chest, 3 foreign jump wings, and the 1st SOCOM "trojan Horse" DUI above the wings.

Of course,I HAD to talk with this dude. Nametag says "WELDON". Said he is from NYC and is down visiting family (his wife and kids were at the table). Told me he is currently with 5th SFGA ,but attached to something called "Special Operations Forces Group" and their "HQ" is in NY. He works at the Waldorf Astoria (supposedly) as a Door man. So...he is ACTIVE 5th SFGA,but is also a door man (again, supposedly) at the waldorf, and, in adition to all that, is part of the "Special Operations Forces Group" in NYC.

*Here's the kicker: His "CO" is "COL" Lowell McQuinn, his CPT is a "CPT Sabatino" and a "COL Hare". They are all part of this SOFG in NYC. Of course,he had a buisness card,so I knew right off,he was legit:P

I tried to get a pic,but he was smart;was so "super secret" he couldnt have his picture taken. He DID mention they go to FT Totten, NY,Camp Smith, NY, and due to friends being some NY jjudges or some such shit, they have free reign at the ranges, training areas ect for their "Special Forces Operations Group".

Where do these a*sholes come from?
IIRC,the McGuinn guy I read about HERE,as being busted, right? I will search for the name in a sec,I just wanted to get this on while my memory was fresh.

Geez. A real "SGT MAJ".

I wish I had been able to get a pic for you all, especially QPs in 5th SFGA.

Wonder if the LTC had LT bar(s) and COL bird:rolleyes:

If they start breeding somehow,a freakshowz-a-comin.

You wouldn't believe how stupid some of these posers are. My grandmother used to work at the DMV and this guy came in claiming to be a Marine, but when he started filling out forms he spelled Marine Corps "Marine Core." dumbass.

I don't know, I was at an ANZAC parade one year and the Navy officer MC talked about the Medical Corps and pronounced the P and the S.

Back on topic...

I had moved into a new set of flats and went to introduce myself to one of my neighbors. The fact I was going into the Army came up in the conversation, and he quickly told me he had been Special Forces in VN. I asked him what his MOS had been....genuinely interested in what his specialty had been and expecting some version of the old coding system.

You guessed it he was a 19-Delta. Didn't you know that for a while each ODA had a Cav Scout Slot. :D
I think that was back in ’51 wasn’t it! :D

The same guy later stole my "Go Army" bag with all my Army documentation and passports etc. Turns out he was on parole.
