View Full Version : Dr Optics mount

I am looking for a mount for a Dr Optics (shorter than the Larue) to be attached to a Daniel Defense 1 o'clock offset mount then mounted to the RIS on a SPR -for use in closer quarters.
I know I have seen one but I cant find it to save my life.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you seen these? (Not sure if these work with a Daniel Defense mount.)

Take some pics and let us know what you think. I've got a Docter as a back-up on my ACOG and I've been contemplating pulling it off and putting it on another gun or an offset mount. I realized how much I hate coming up off the gun to shoot through it. Took me a while to get there, but I realize the error in my ways.

I am running a JPoint, which is very similar to the Doctor, and it just bolted onto the YHM adaptor on a Surefire M73 rail.

Jp makes one and that's the one i'm gonna pick up and try for the same purpose. Don't have any first hand experience yet. However it is adjustable for point of impact and you can change the sights(uses pistol sights). Since it is a front/rear system is should be a little more accurate than a doctor or jpoint.
Saw this today, might be even better as it is over the scope.

Might want to check out the LaRue version.
LaRue Tactical J-Point / Dr. Optics / FastFire Attachment LT-137
It replaces one of the ring halves putting the backup on the side of the main optic. A "slight" tilt and you've got the second sight picture without completely busting position.
SC - Not a solution to your problem. I'm going to check out the AMS Machine solution for myself.

There are several M110's at 20th's SOT-D with a similar LaRue mount that I had the opportunity to try recently.
The trouble with mounting halo sights on top is it requires you to break your cheek weld completely then look for the red-dot. Thats time I would rather spend putting lead into whatever popped up in front of me.
With it mounted in the 1 o'clock position on the RIS you simply cant the rifle and your eye falls into the sight...
