PARACHINAR, Pakistan: Police say a bomb blast killed a government official and his wife and their four children in north-west Pakistan near the Afghan border.

Police said the bomb was planted in the house of Sarbraz Saddiqi in Sadda city, in the Kurram tribal region, yesterday morning. It was believed to be in retaliation for a military campaign against the Taliban. There also have been kidnappings of government officials in the area.

The army is fighting Taliban militants and al-Qaeda fighters in their heartland of South Waziristan. Militants are believed to have fled the offensive to neighbouring areas, including the Kurram and Orakzi tribal regions.

The bombing came as officials claimed that a US missile attack that demolished a compound used by militants crossing into Afghanistan had killed 13 fighters, including a local commander.

A US drone slammed two missiles into the building on Saturday in Saidgi village, seven kilometres north of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan.

Elsewhere, government officials yesterday led thousands of loyalists in mourning the former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, two years after her assassination. Several thousand faithful gathered outside the Bhutto family mausoleum in the southern village of Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, but complained that security officials prevented them from entering the compound.

So these attacks on Local tribal regions are increasing, GoPK and the ISI will do nothing and the planning of attacks in Afghanistan will contiue.

But what can we do? As reported here the US Military’s Special Operations Forces are planning on increased counterterrorism missions against some of the most lethal groups in Afghanistan. So will this plan have Pakistan is it's window? Probability on paper and Ppt Show but with Pakistan resisting US timeline for fighting insurgents we will not be fully in force in FATA tribal regions.
