It seems that some of us here are in good Holiday spirits.

I bought myself a Remington M1903A3 Springfield rifle for Christmas. I have already ordered a new barrel and stock for it. When I'm finished restoring it I'll post some pictures.

Would anyone like to share?

After swearing an oath to my girlfriend that I would not buy her a present, and after being chastised by her for buying a centerpiece and Christmas card, she presented me with a spice rack and cookbook...

I think she's trying to improve my cooking...:munchin

"Nook" in theory...

Also college football bowl tickets for my alma mater- sweet but no surprise since I was part of the ordering process :D

A NOAA weather radio so I will know when I am about to get snowed in while elk hunting.

A device for attaching a video camera to my bow so I can video while hunting elk.

And finally, the boots my son destroyed getting through Airborne school and Selection. They reside in a place of honor next to several other mementos.

The greatest gift I recieved was the smile on my great-nephew's face as he opened his presents under the Christmas tree.

Money for a flat screen. Hi-Lift jack. A dozen books for the stack. A nice bottle of Abelour A'bunadh, which was cracked last night. Christmas Eve and Day sharing love with my family. You never know how many of those you have left.

I hope that everyone got all of what they needed, and some of what they wanted.

Lying in bed and listening to my daughters, ages 2 & 4, walking down the stairs and hear the oldest say....."YES!" when she noticed the presents under the tree. Then both of them running into our bedroom with huge eyes saying, "Wake up, Santa was here!"
That will never get old......

My son is the Director of Sales at Penn State University Press....He has told me they are not so keen on them because now you can pirate books just like they do movies and songs........:( But it's a great gift your MRFL(?) got you so enjoy......;)

It seems that some of us here are in good Holiday spirits.

I paid a few bills for a Remington M1903A3 Springfield rifle. I have already ordered a new barrel and stock for it. When I'm finished restoring it I'll post some pictures.

Please do me a favor and keep me in the loop should you find another one.

03A3 with a C stock would be ideal. All we are seeing around here are old broken junk, sporters, and badly refinished pieces.

Congrats!

I had two Christmas'...

The family of my heart Christmas Eve.. A Riveter's Forge, indoor plumbing*, not having to cook for 30+ people, promise of pick of the litter for a brittany spaniel.
*- indoor meaning the last of the 3 domes that comprise my woods house was finished, finally, there is now a roof over my head and shower.

Christmas Day, with my blood family..
WiFi router, a bag of Hershey's 'naughty' kisses with a gold bracelet inside.

I got a iMac 27" 2.8Ghz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

I just ordered and received this 27” iMac on 04 December. I'm going from a 17" Flat screen iMac, so the size of the new screen was a REAL change! Pictures and some MS Power Point files really look good on it!

The speed of it really dazzles me! Again I'm use to that much slower iMac.

I ordered it pretty standard for that i7 configuration. 4GB SDRAM, 1TB Serial ATA Drive, ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB, 8x double - layer Super drive, Magic (Wireless) Mouse and Wireless Key board.

I've had no problems using the FW setup to transfer files over to the new Computer from the old one. Of course, my OS 9x stuff will not run in the new OS 10.6x along with a few from OS 10.4.11.

I'm VERY happy with the new guy! (So far.)

That screen is just humongus!

Sounds like everyone made out pretty well. Its nice to be home and safe in America knowing so many weren't able to say the same for their Christmas day.

I got me a nice custom setup Warlord from Gene over at HSGI. I'm pretty excited. I've been wearing the old version for a couple years this new one made to my spec ought to be a blast.

Also got some great historical books from Dad. One comparing/contrasting Rommel and Patton looks especially interesting.

This year was especially nutty as I also have a wedding pending for April 2010. The future HH6 had a shower last week and picked up numerous other gifts we registered for so we will be way loaded down on the way home. Can't wait to try out all the new kitchen toys. :D

1. Took the XYL to her favorite jewelry store to upgrade her engagement diamond, only to come home with something else again! Now she has a bo-hunker weapon on the other hand and is happy. 2. Got to see my son's face when he saw how I tricked out his 10/22, responds with "Dad now I need a MIL-DOT"! 3. One of my former NCOs’ dropped off a new front rest. 4. And for being a good husband and father I got a hall pass to the Camp Perry, CMP store, the possibilities...

I LOVE the Foxfire series, but sorry to hear about the other two unless you didn't like that tooth anyway and you work in a hospital.

I got a Lee Valley small plow plane with five different blades.

Sure do wish I knew a blacksmith. Cut and wroght iron nails are getting expensive. :D

Several squads from our SWAT Company got deployed to our Airport for a show of force dog and pony show. So I spent 1/2 the evening at the airport trying to avoid cameras and interviews.

It used to be that I got cool presents for either the army or SWAT, now I know I'm heading downhill when I got a wireless printer so I could be more efficient in printing out my documents with my laptop.

I got a Nook for my wife, but she won't get it until mid-January.

She got me a new watch, nite GX80-201, the glowing parts are tritium.

"We" also got a new camera for "us", a Nikon D5000. So I got a formal agreement that "we" need a new H&K USP CT. We'll see if she remembers the agreement when I order it. :D

Yes indeed. Although some of it is overpriced IMHO, I would not hesitate to recommend the tin work pants. They are nearly indestructible in the woods, for normal guys anyway;).

Spent fine time with the family at the ranch. We ate gumbo, boiled crawfish, and rest of the time keeping my dog " Bosco " from eating the wrapping paper off the gifts. My weatherby 7mm had some trigger work done (hairpin) and a Leopold Vx-3 scope put on. Just in time too!:D
