Good deal, but you might want to try Office 2007 before you buy.

Not everyone thinks it is an improvement.

Nice gesture, though.

Not everyone thinks it is an improvement ...

For those who have tried it (or plan to) and are looking to lessen the learning curve, Microsoft has created a "Get Started" tab that integrates into Word, Excel and Powerpoint. The tab allows you to watch video demos and training and contains an interactive guide to help you find where the Office 2003 commands and buttons appear in Office 2007.

Download it here:

Once you learn that the big circle in the top left is what used to be the File menu, all is well. It does take a little getting used to, but after that I was fine with it.

If you are military or civilian gov't, it is called Enterprise and is the full version for $29.95. It came out as a military home purchase last year so that you can work at home. Of course that forced all the gov't offices to shift over so that the ome work guys could interface with the office guys.

2007 will read all the old and I do mean old, I opened a Lotus 1,2,3 v1.1 file with it, but if you save it default to 2007 version only 2007 will read it.

The learning curve is steeper but is actually, once you get used to it a touch more intuitive.

Save your cash and just download Open Office. It has the same applications as MS Office, is compatible with MS products and it is completely free. Mr. Gates has enough money and there is no reason for him to have more of yours. Check it out.
