What was the tipping point that got USASOC out of ForceCom? Was it one incident (as in Eagle Claw and JSOC), logistical and budgeting size, or finally just having the right person here the plea?

Intersting to see "Darth" Austin quoted in there.

In a nutshell it was the CSA's desire to establish an Army Special Operations MACOM, which 1st SOCOM (a 2-star HQ) wasn't at the time.

We certainly weren't winning any popularity contests when we fell under FORSCOM.
