The perverse 'code of honor' among thieves in America today - - I heard this on NPR yesterday while on my way to speak at a Middle School about Veterans Day.

And so it goes...;)

Muggers See Military ID, Return Wallet
NPR, 11 Nov 2009

Four men stopped a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student at gunpoint Tuesday and grabbed his wallet. When one of them took a moment to look through the wallet, he found a military ID. The student was an Army reservist. The muggers apologized, and thanked the reservist for his service. They returned the wallet and gave the man a fist bump.

Based on the information provided in the NPR report, I am amazed at the thought of the astonishing bit of reasoning it must have taken to come to such a conclusion.

Irony.....just unusual to see thieves with a somewhat social conscious and respect for vets.
