Ugh. I am here to take my medicine. Praetorian's instincts unfortunately were correct. Horrendous play by Corp, defense was not physical and UW won the turnover battle. Kudos to Jake Locker, best QB in the PAC-10, and to Sarkisian and Holt for beating their mentor.

Unbelievable win!!

There were a couple other guys from Washington here (Iraq) that stayed up to watch it and we tried to wake the whole fob when it was over! I don't know where the USC fans of the company were, but there were plenty others that weren't so much cheering for UW to win as they were for USC to lose.

...And yes, I rarely ever post here, but for such an occasion I just had to. :D

Annoying trend for your team RL, this losing to underperforming Pac ten squads each year.

Did I say on another post “Good luck on Oct. 3”? I meant to say Good luck on Sept. 19. :D

GO BLUE!

Received these from a friend who's a 'Bama/SEC fan as proof that the problems with USC's football team are directly related to issues with their girlfriends on the cheering squad - Texas A&M suffers from the same problem. :p

'Bama Crimsonets
LSU Golden Girls
USC Song Girls

And so it goes...;)

Richard's $.02 :munchin

It is hard to win a game on Saturday when your starting quarterback is on the other side of the country getting ready to play his game on Sunday.

But I am not bitter.

Luckily/Unluckily for CAL fans the Golden Bears have never had this distraction.;)

My thoughts on Saturday were Jake Locker is talented, and I will get to see one ticked off USC squad coming to Berkeley in a few weeks.

Roll On You BEARS! :lifterAKV--

I implore you. Please don't call me 'sir'. I already have too many reminders of my rapidly approaching dotage:

looking for objects I'm holding in my hand
the additional real estate on my forehead as the hairline retreats
an irrational fear of youngsters and their newfangled digital devices
noticing that the actresses I had the hots for as a youth are now playing the roles of grandmothers
the increasing propensity to reminisce about the 'good old days.' (Why, when I was your age, we had to take the cassette out of the Walkman and turn it over to hear the other side.)
remembering when the 18-49 marketing demographic was the 18-29 marketing demographic
recalling the days when Paul M. Kennedy's prediction that there would be ample career opportunities for military and diplomatic historians at academic institutions was something other than a punch line to a grim cautionary tale about the perils of not engaging those who disagree with you with personal candor, intellectual intensity, and professional respect
the sinking fear that someone somewhere has a photo of me wearing a leisure suit
posts like this one here (http://professionalsoldiers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=263789&postcount=9) (Why, I remember Letterman's show when it was so raw that everyone--including Letterman--wondered "They canceled The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder for this guy?")

The California Golden Bears will only break your heart as long as you let them.:(

Very true, hats off to the Ducks they showed up to play with intensity, Coach Teford has done so much for the CAL program, but this is a facet they miss too frequently.
