With this latest talk of parents letting their children "Opt Out" of saying the Pledge of Allegiance every morning before class, buy letting them bring in a note from home saying little Susie or little Timmy DOESN'T have to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, has been making my blood boil for some time now.

I received this today in an E-mail, and feel that before the parents of little Susie or Timmy give them their notes, they should all sit down TOGETHER and watch this video. Then see were they stand.

Red said that 40 years ago. I wonder what he would've said today?

What a great man. Back in '75 or '76, I spent about 2 hours with him backstage at a Dallas, TX performance. He sat on a couch with the rest of us in the dressing room area eating a KFC box lunch in his tux shirt, tie, coat, dress shoes....and boxer shorts.

Unlike many performers, he was as nice and decent in person as he was onstage.

Discreetly got on his knees and prayed before he went onstage.

A good conservative who loved our soldiers.

I'll never forget that evening.

They sure as hell rarely make them like that anymore.
