If you're in the vicinity of the area, have young children, and you (or they) would like to start building up basic understanding, skill, and safety of firearms, please consider attending the event. Also if they are already shooting or even competing, please let others fill the spot as this is a free, but limited participations event.

The event should last until just after lunchtime. Hotdogs, hamburgers, etc to go around. Each participant will shoot five rounds at clay targets with a shotgun, 10 rounds with a .22 rimfire, 10 rounds with a .30 carbine, 2 rounds with a blackpowder rifle, and 5 shots on the archery range.

IMHO, this is the best way to preserve the 2nd Amendment: By educating the youth on marksmanship as a safe, challenging, and fun activity, as well as the responsiblity and respect that come with it.

The Annual Young Shooters Challenge is a great opportunity to experience many different types of shooting including .22 rim fire rifle, .30M1 Carbine rifle, Black Powder Muzzleloader, Shotgun, and Archery! Young shooters must be age 8 to 18 in order to participate.

“a great way to introduce our young people to the challenging and
rewarding lifetime sport of shooting”

There is a FREE event open to both RBGC families and non-members as well. All firearms, ammunition, and archery equipment will be provided – no personal firearms or ammunition allowed.

Registration is limited to 100 participants! Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
Also, lunch will be provided free of charge to all those who pre-register.

This annual event serves both RBGC members and youth in our community by providing an opportunity to learn firearms/archery safety as well as experience the thrill of actually getting to shoot! Safety instruction will be provided prior to each activity. All firing will be supervised by individuals knowledgeable in the particular sport.

Thanks for the invite. Unfortunately, it's a little off my beaten path. For those of you who don't want to dig three layers, in the vicinity means Dawsonville, GA.

Dawsonville, Cumming,Gainesville, Buford, Atlanta....if there are still spots, I'm sure the old salts won't mind folks from all over Georgia, or even Tennessee.

They can also use more volunteers :munchin

With all that's going on now, there's no telling if such event will still take place next year :(

Just a quick bump to those who may be interested. It's about 3/4 full now.
Also, looks like archery won't be part of it (unless one of you experts out there are willing to volunteer to teach and run the course :))
