View Full Version : 18 y/o attempts to rob bar....but doesn't succeed
You have to watch this video to really believe this.
Apparently, an 18 y/o misguided youth, attempted to rob a bar in Wisconsin. He ran into the bar with a blue bandanna over his face, and his hand in his pants waist band, letting the patrons "think" he has a weapon in there.
Well.....this particular establishment, that this misguided youth ran into, just happened to be filled with some off duty cops.....20 of them to be exact.
It's been said before and it'll be said again......YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID.
Enjoy. :munchin

Big boy didn't even need to put his beer down to subdue the dumbass.
I can't believe how nice they were to him. I didn't detect any extra shots to get the kid under control.... He's lucky he didn't get torn up... He should have, that might have taught him a lesson, I know that chicken shit Dis Con charge won't.

Great restraint shown, and good job to the LEO's!:lifter
But as a learning opportunity, say I am in the bar with my girlfriends, and some perp walks in with a gun to rob it. What is the wisest course of action in that case?
Just curious, and thanks for any replies!

I would be curious to hear from experienced LEO here on this question too. The one thing I've heard is if the robbers aren't wearing masks it's much more dangerous because they aren't planning on leaving witnesess?

Echoes I absolutely agree with TR, if no immediate exit is available or tactically feasable under the circumstances, find cover or get on the floor, don't show any signs of agression, if anything be a good witness, try to get and remember an accurate description of what the perp is wearing... if and only if you can do so without endangering yourself or others i.e. exposing yourself from cover.

Get small and inconspicuous real quick.
Let him. TR
Concur with TR 100%.
That being said.....the ONLY time I would recommend a fight for your life mentality is if the defendant attempts to remove you from the initial crime scene to another location. Most female victims never survive the second crime scene.
The very few times I've ever seen a holdup guy wear a mask is when he was a prior employee, knew the current employees, or had prior knowlege of a video system - for the most part, they could care less who sees them - its all about gettin high again.......

Concur... the bar has insurance and its not your problem.
Thank you to all who have replied with their insight on this subject.
Even though a person can learn and practice self-defense tactics, such as boxing, in this type of scenario the point seems almost moot.
And casey, GREAT point! Never leave the location with the toad!
Committing to memory now.
