View Full Version : Knife info
Anyone have any info/experience with these knives. Good or bad. Top one is made by Fox Knives. Bottom one is a Tops. The Cord wraps are mine. Just going thru my collection and these are the only two I have of these brands.

I have a TOPS..I think it's a 'steel eagle' I won as a door prize. It's got a solid (thick) blade and it seemed sharp and would do things that knives are supposed to do. When I went onto their website to look it up, they have a knife for every occasion/reason...they have a tuesday full moon knife for a left handed seal, a jedi trained air marshal and the list does go on forever.
Nice cord wrap BTW, mine has micarta handles and is very front heavy with what amounts to a saw on the back spine of the blade, not sure on the utility other than to make a real mess out of what ever organ the knife is pulled out of. I think your wrap offers a better grip retention than my original handles....but what do I know, I'm just a surgeon...they make me use tiny little blades (scalpels) that just are not as much fun as the bigger knives !

I own a couple of Tops kniives, and they definitely are "TOPS" . Strong, sturdy, and they take and keep a great edge. Have used a Tom Brown tracker for camping and hunting for years. Solid as a rock...
I like the TOP'S Knife. Very Spartan like. Just one contiguous Blade. I wore it on my Kit for Awhile because it was Low Profile. If you search Google for Cord Wraps and some of the Knife Forums out there. There are some pretty good step by step instructions on how to Cord wrap Knives.
One thing to remember is to soak the 550 Cord in Hot water before wrapping. When done use a Blow Dryer on it. It will tighten up real good that way.
