I lived in MA for 33 years and I am loving this story.
The state motto of MA is:
Ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem (By the sword we shall seek peace, but peace only under liberty) but very few people know what it means. Seriously, if they knew what it meant, they would lobby to change it to something such as, "by the law we seek diversity, but not diversity of opinion"
The state house hacks think the motto is "Politician's Paradise" ( a play on the LA liccense plate 'sportsman's paraside' )

I saw "Massachusetts," "politician," and "booze" and thought they were starting a primary to fill Kennedy's seat.
