So,
TS informed me that the barter system is alive and well among you.......
In my line of work we do the same with medical equipment for med pacs/bags, vest items all medically related. If people need certain items, i.e., Ashermans, splints, eye wash, skin glue, etc, here is the place to ask....Trades between your equipment and mine are welcome. Can do it privately or right here....your choice....may not want to let on what you're giving up but it's fun to tell what you got!

How about some used dental tools for a trade? I've purchased cheap plastic ones but the handles keep breaking.

Now I wonder who might have used dental tools for trade????

Anyone (besides the QP's) want to venture a guess as to why I desire used dental tools?

TS Those might be handy for cleaning the hard to get to places in handgun parts. Either that or Saca just sent you an honorary doctorate of tooth grinding diploma.

Bill nailed it, they're for gun cleaning and hard to get to places.

The plastic one keep breaking. Metal is the only way to go.

I have heard of people on here who might just have what you are looking for TS. ;)

You have a few nicks and crannies in a weapon that might need cleaning? I know that bolt for my AR15 can be a real pain to get rid of carbon buildup.

I need to know from someone "in the know" that might just have obtained such instruments from me recently... WHICH ONE(s) did you find most helpful and effective?

I sent a bunch of different ones... Need to know what you found effective. PM is fine if you don't want to post publicly. :cool:

I liked the pointy, hooked scrapers, based on personal experience, I think they are for scraping up by the gum line or perhaps scaling the flat surfaces of the teeth.

The mirrors are handy for inspecting chambers and directing light into dark areas.

If you wanted correct nomenclature, you should have run a class.

Oh, and I also liked the tiny brush, that is very handy as well.

Thanks TR... I think you are referring to the old perio scalers I sent you. They have multi-angled shanks and a curved end tip verses one that comes to a very sharp point. If you would, look on the handle of the instrument(s) you like best for "pickin' and PM me the engraved numbers you see on it. That way, if I trade in the future.. I can send what works best without a bunch of excess items that would be wasted.

I assume the double sided plastic mirror worked as good or better than the metal single sided mirror?

So an instrument (whichever one TR tells me was best), a proxy brush with two brush tips, a standard dental expleror, and a double sided mirror... The perfect carbon buildup weapon cleaning kit.

Once I finalize what seems to work best... I will be available to barter.

OK, I'll keep any off topic comments to a real minimum here, but I have to say something just this once. I can see Saca deep in the middle of a procedure with the patients jaws clamped wide open, he can't find the next tool, remembers where he left it, walks over to another table a couple feet away and extracts the needed tool out of the middle of a pile of torn down firearm reciever parts he's working on and gets right back to work in the patients mouth.
