I can’t believe this. It has to be some sort of dark comedy (for someone)
SnT

"First mistake”
President Barack Obama needs some outside help pushing health care reform, and he's turning to rabbis to get it. In a morning conference call with about 1000 rabbis from across the nation, Obama asked for aid: "I am going to need your help in accomplishing necessary reform," the President told the group, according to Rabbi Jack Moline, who tweeted his way through the phoner.
Eyebrows were also raised by the choice of hold music that played to rabbis before the call began.
"First mistake," Moline tweeted, as he waited for the call to begin. "Music on hold is 'Deutschland uber Alles,' " a classical German anthem, the lyrics to which in part say, "Preserve and protect our Kaiser, our land."

Coulda been worse - they've could have played the Horst Wessel Lied or the Panzer Lied.

Richard,
Also the following could have been offered
SnT

Es zittern die morschen Knochen –("Heute gehört uns Deutschland und morgen die ganze Welt"), Deutschland erwache, or Kampflied der Nationalsozialisten.

The rotten bones are shaking – (Today, Germany hears us, and tomorrow, the whole world), Germany Awake! Or the Nazi Combat Song

Was the president set up? From the article provided in the OP.
(The music was chosen by the company carrying the conference call, not the White House or the RAC.)
Then again, the president's fondness for czars could activate concerns among some of his constituents that go beyond the issues debated on this BB and elsewhere.

He would not need the help from any group if just listened to the AMERICAN People...all of the Town Hall meetings I have seen, Have stated they are not for the system being pushed down our throats...hmmm...Politicians listening to their constituents....I should have thought about this rant before hitting the reply button!

Methinks the constituents should have elected better politicians! Elections count, outside of a few places in the US, townhalls don't! I hope to heck all those complainers bothered to vote last time. :)

I've heard of worse.

Years ago, Japan Air Lines was buying some 747s. Executives came over to the US to fly their first one back.

On the return trip home, the in-flight movie was some World War Two "Marines kill hundreds of Japanese" film.

I bet there was a very heavy uncomfortable silence on that plane.

That's bizarre. I've probably listened to hundreds of hours of hold music and never heard anything like Deutschland Uber Alles. Was that guy serious?
