Tiny was the sniper PI teaching at Mott Lake when I went through what became (years later) the Level II course. Most of what I know about the M21 started with him. I still look back in awe at him shooting steel at 600 yds, offhand. Rest in peace MSG, you did your duty.

Rest in Peace Big Guy!!

Tiny & I joined ODA 5 (later renamed to ODA 123) about the same time in 1981 at Bad Tolz. We were deployed on a Flintlock and when our resupply bundle was kicked there were promotion orders to MSG and MSG rank. He was promoted in the field as he should have been.

Tiny, I remeber all the great times we had together (and some not so great times ). You are in my prayers.

Tiny was awarded the Siver Star for his role in the Son Tay raid.

You will be missed.

Tiny was the Intel Sgt on my first team ODA-552 (HALO). He was a mountain of a man - larger than life in every respect. It was an honor to serve on my first team with a legend like him.

I missed this thread when it was first posted...I guess I was surveying in a remote part of Utah at the time...Tiny was the team sergeant of a composite detachment that went through the Alpini course in 1981...he was a true man-mountain and was a pleasure to serve with...

Served with Tiny in the seventies, one hell of a soldier. As friends and on the weekends, we'd ride our motto cross bikes over every trail in Spring Lake and Ft Bragg. Tiny always had problems getting across the mud holes. Salute Big Brother. You'll be missed.

I served twice with Tiny.

On my first ODA, I was lucky to serve in 5th Gp with a great group of very skilled guys. Tiny was already a legend from Son Tay and his prior work across the fence.

He harassed me, taught me, and kidded me every day. I still remember his favorite question "Which side of your face do you like best? I might let you keep it!"

He's one of the main reasons I continued in SF for another 20 years. His lessons are still being passed on to guys to weren't even born in those years.

So, Tiny, enjoy Valhalla and know that we're still pressing on down here!
