Gentlemen,

In “Brotherhood of Warriors” Aaron Cohen describes his time with the IDF in the mid 90’s. Mr. Cohen’s descriptions of the daily terrorist threats faced by Israeli civilians illustrate why Americans should be grateful the war on terror is being waged overseas and not in our cities.

On a lighter note he, he mentioned the rivalry between the IDF’s General Staff Reconnaissance Unit Sayeret Matkal of the Israeli Army, and their Naval counterparts S-13.

Apparently, Matkal also has an unofficial motto which translates to,

“Whatever doesn’t go with strength, goes with brains “

Not to be outdone, and deliberately mocking Matkal, is the unofficial motto of S-13,

“Whatever doesn’t go with strength, goes with more strength “

There is also a joke that says if both units were ordered to move a wall from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Matkal would take the wall apart with sledgehammers and rebuild it perfectly in Jerusalem, while S-13 would take the direct approach and push the whole wall to Jerusalem.
