Some of you know I have been an FRG board member for a local ILARNG unit the past 3 years. Last year about this time, approximately 70 Soldiers of Charlie Troop, 106 CAV, 2nd Sqd deployed for Afghanistan. Unfortunately they did not deploy as one unit, nor are they redeploying as one.

This past Friday 8 of our guys (not 16 as the article references) came home! We still have about 60+ to go.

I had requested the route from the highway be lined with Flags and the city of Aurora went well above...as did the citizens...lining the route with welcome home signs and people waving Flags as the guys were escorted through to the Armory.

We get to do this twice more within a few more weeks after their elections, etc...

Welcome Home to my guys that are back stateside...prayers out for the rest of you until you're back with us!

I've seen it many times, but one of our Soldiers got to meet his son for the first time...never fails to bring a tear to my eye. (click the Soloff family reunited link under the 'related stories')

Gypsy, thank you.. as the mom of a soldier.. When he came home last week.. to see the signs, the flags, the hellos of strangers......

They may not say thank you to those of you who take the time to do this for them.. but they appreciate it far more than mere words can say.

You are an angel. Thank you for what you do.
Anne

Well thanks for the kind words but I consider it an honor and privilege to do any thing I can for those who serve. :)
