I have just read the "Get Selected" book, which was great. The book had a section talking about having a mentor.I have done a couple searches on the site and see that most of the threads here dont agree with having a mentor, because its only you during selection. I was actually more interested in talking to a "mentor" to see there every day life, and more life in SF questions. I have been preparing for months for selection and have done plenty of research on those subjects. i live about an hour from ft. campbell, is there proper perceudure on meeting a QP, or is there somewhere were i can go to talk to them without being that guy that everyone hates.

OH, OH! ME! Pick me! Ohhhhhh, Pul-Ease! Come-mon, come-mon come-mon!
Seriously, what do you think this is? A dating service?
Look, I'll meet you at Charlie Mikes . . . Bring me something nice, not too expensive. I'll be easy to spot. . . I'll be drinking a beer. Just walk right up, sit right down and whisper, "Mentor me, Stud".
I can barely wait.:D

The whole mentoring thing is not like on Batman when you climb the mountain and present the blue flower as your "ticket" and say "mentor me"
Mentoring is an unofficial, and unexpected, relationship between a junior and a senior...be it Soldier, QP, race car driver, or human being.
You don't "sign up for it"...there will be someone with more experience at something or whose actions and values you choose to value; in turn that person will see something in you worth nurturing, assisting you in your own life experience. This promotes personal growth. "Mentoring"
Being a "QP groupie" won't get you a mentor. Reading here, and places like here, will give you insight as to the mindset of this organization and how to conduct yourself when you make your attempt at training.
In short, be yourself...when your potential is demonstrated, it will be recognized.

And crap like this is NOT the way to get yourself started. Rather it demonstrates your current mindset -
Better tighten up your shotgroup there stud and realize exactly whose house you are in.

I read your post and thought of the movie, "Hancock"...."You're an asshole".:D
Dajuggernaunt,
Do a few more weeks of reading before you post again, there's a lot of good reading for individuals such as yourself.
