The Group Commander was about to start the briefing to his staff, battalion and company commanders. While waiting for the coffee machine to finish its brewing, the COL decided to pose a question to all assembled.

He explained that his wife had been a bit frisky the night before and he failed to get his usual amount of sound sleep.

"Now," he said, "just how much of sex is 'work' and how much of it is 'pleasure?'"

The DCO chimed in with 75-25% in favor of work.

The 1st Battalion CDR said it was 50-50%.

The HQs Company CDR responded with 25-75% in favor of pleasure, depending on his state of inebriation at the time.

There being no consensus, the COL turned to the Group CSM who was overseeing the making of the coffee at the time.

"Sergeant Major," asked the COL, "What's your opinion?"

Without any hesitation, the crusty NCO responded, "Sir, it has to be 100% pleasure."

The COL was surprised and asked, "Why's that, Sergeant Major?"

"Well, sir, if there was any work involved, you officers would have us NCOs doing it for you."

The room fell silent.
