One of the on-going fears related to the 'open borders' concept within the EU since the enactment of the 1987 Single European Act. ;)

Italy - 5 North Africans Wanted For Terrorism
USA Today, 4 Jun 2009

Authorities said Thursday they have issued arrest warrants for five North Africans accused of belonging to a terror cell that plotted attacks on a church and a subway line in Italy, as well as in France, Spain and Denmark.

Milan prosecutor Nicola Piacente said that while three of them — a Tunisian, an Algerian and a Moroccan — were already in jail on terrorism charges, another Moroccan suspect is still at large. A Tunisian was picked up in Caltanissetta, Sicily.

The suspects are believed to belong to a group which plotted attacks on a church in Bologna, northern Italy, and on the Milan subway in 2006. The group also allegedly targeted France, Spain and Denmark, Piacente said, without giving details as the probe is underway.

The cell was also active in Algeria, Syria and Morocco and was recruiting and training aspiring terrorists to send to Iraq, Piacente said.

It would appear that we are not the only country who should have reclaimed control over borders and immigration policies before it got this far.
