Aung San Suu Kyi has been under house arrest for a while. About a week ago, an American man was arrested after swimming across a lake to sneak into her compound.

Foreigners are not allowed to stay in Myanmar homes, so she's facing prison.

According to the story (Yahoo News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20090514/wl_time/08599189816300)), the American is "53-year-old former military serviceman John William Yettaw of Falcon, Missouri."

Weird. Hard to guess what he was up to. (But naturally they leap to point out that he was in the service, once. )

He swam in . . . maybe he was a SEAL . . . Carrying a secret message . . . She let him stay over night . . . so he was a handsome SEAL and she liked the message.:p
Shut UP! It's true! It's on wikipedia.:D

Apparently the guy has been out of the service since Vietnam, but they're still quick to describe him as a "former military" American.

A Mormon writing a "faith-based" book on heroism who was trying to sneak into her home to pray with her. Or "pray" with her, in Dozer's version. :p
