OK, Never been a big fan of the Daily Show, but this is a good one

It takes a special talent to interview someone and set them up to make major asses of themselves.... but then again, maybe some people don't need any help, and the spotlight just needs to be shown on them to see how ridiculous they really are.

Gem of the clip: One of the code pink women is chattering about how it's their First Amendment right to get rid of the marines... and the interviewer cuts in with "Boy, wouldn't it be great if we had some organization that was sworn to uphold the First Amendment" ? ;)

Haha... that was good. I liked the "giant-handed constitutional scholar" who says that the Marines rights aren't as important as hers :D

Interesting group. When Gen Schwartz testified in front of the HASC a couple of years ago as USTRANSCOM/CC, he did so with USNORTHCOM, USSOUTHCOM, and USSTRATCOM. The same day of the hearing, Al Gore was testifying in front of some House Committee as well about global warming.

When we arrived, there were a few Code Pink fellows (all of them were transvestites) going on about the illegality of the war. By the time we left they were everywhere, and the Capitol Hill Police were there to provide crowd control.

I am walking with all four of the four stars out the front of the Rayburn Building so they can get into their vehicles. Not one word was said to these four gentlemen by the Code Pink Crowd. Not one word.

They waited to show their displeasure for the war until Al Gore emerged from his hearing. The only reason being is that is when the cameras were rolling. Cameras weren't rolling when 4 combatant commanders came out of the building, therefore there was no need to express themselves.

While I was at NPS, we showed this particular video to one of our more staunchy left leaning professors who went to Berkley as an Undergrad. She was absolutely appalled at the behavior of these folks.

What made that part even better was her saying it was very important they protect that right, followed by his quip about an organization to protect those rights, and her agreeing that its exactly what they needed.

Also, the idiot who talked about policemen not having guns would make the streets safer....

They need to lay off the hippie lettuce because they have no idea what their talking about.

Stewart has actually been giving some pretty good jabs to the current administration, surprisingly enough.
Left wing though he may be, I think he realizes the comedy lies in lampooning the current party in power no matter who they may be.

I was talking with someone the other evening about just this subject. The comedians have a very narrow window of time available to poke fun at former President Bush before people lose interest. This new administration is already - and seems as if it will continue to be - a "target rich environment"!

Letterman is milking as much out of his hostility towards Bush the Younger as he can. (At its worst, Letterman's vitriol led to CBS editing an episode for the west coast feed as discussed here (http://newsbusters.org/node/3454).)

Last night, he accused the current president of "Bushing up" the Air Force One / Statue of Liberty photo op fiasco.

Letterman used to be funny. Now he's just bitter. How his audiences cheer for his jokes on behalf of the common American is beyond me. Letterman was at the cutting edge of entertainers getting paid seven figure salaries.

The saddest thing about Letterman is that he used to be an innovator.

Stupid pet tricks, throwing watermelons and fluorescent light bulbs off of buildings, making fun of Larry Bud Melman, the human alka seltzer, the top ten list...classic, unexpected, quirky stuff. Now it's all old schtick, but when I was a kid Letterman had a great show.
