In an attempt to alleviate some of the suffering of our citizenry, I propose the following:

Due to the closing of the Sacramento “Tent City” because of sanitary issues, why not “assist” the suffering tent city dwellers by providing “No Cost Moves” to one of the nearby pre-established FEMA “Emergency Camps”? That way we are providing our down-trodden with both adequate dwelling and a service. We would need an Armed, Uniformed force in order to project Authority and Discipline. I suggest a black or dark grey uniform, it just seems more intimidating. Who knows maybe ACORN could provide this service, we are “Helping out our needy” after all. They would still need to have a distinctive item of apparel IOT identify these helpers as a special element. Next we would need to provide enough transportation assets to move the relocated. I think box cars, err AMTRAK should be sufficient. Once we get all the personnel into their new home we would need to provide them a means to provide for themselves. I think large “collective” gardens could produce enough vegetable products to sustain them. They would also need a source of protein; to this end I suggest small livestock. Cattle would require too much grain, therefore I recommend goats. Goats can live in any environment and it would ingratiate us further with our Arab brethren. Of course we (the government) would need to install a , um, lets call him a “Camp Administrator/Commissar” someone who would oversee the daily administration and running of the facility, err um I mean “Community”. For the “residents” who aren’t “Agriculturally” inclined we would need to provide them with a means to become productive. In a further attempt to decrease the cost of our “actions overseas” (Don’t want to call it a War on Terror), we could build an ammunitions factory within walking distance of the “Relocation Community”, thus decreasing the dependence upon foreign petroleum products. These citizens could then go to work in the factory assisting our national goals and giving them a sense of self worth. Those that are too old, sick, or unable to assist could , I don’t know – maybe “volunteer” to help our medical professionals with studies that can be used for the advancement of our various medical researches, it would be cheaper than paying our bright, intelligent, young college students (remember these are our future). And it wouldn’t distract our youth from their studies, while still providing these subjects with a sense of self worth and community involvement.

Just trying to do my part with coming up with ideas to help out in these troubling times. ;)

After this posting I will change my name to Comrade.
