"Obama-Speak: Homeland Security Secretary Replaces 'Terrorism' With the Term 'Man-Caused Disaster'
By Tim Graham (Bio | Archive)
March 19, 2009 - 16:19 ET

Even as President Obama compares bankers to suicide bombers, his Homeland Security Secretary is suggesting the T-word, terrorism, is too inflammatory and representative of old-fashioned "politics of fear." She's announced a new
term: "man-caused disaster." From an interview with the German magazine Der Spiegel:

SPIEGEL: Madame Secretary, in your first testimony to the US Congress as Homeland Security Secretary you never mentioned the word "terrorism." Does Islamist terrorism suddenly no longer pose a threat to your country?

NAPOLITANO: Of course it does. I presume there is always a threat from terrorism. In my speech, although I did not use the word "terrorism," I referred to "man-caused" disasters. That is perhaps only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.

But what if the suicide bomber is a female? Isn't it sexist to use "man-caused disaster"?."

No more terrorists, just "man-caused" disasters.

Got to be nuanced these days, don't want to make any of the PC protected people mad.

Sometimes, there are not "polite" words to describe such Fu**ing Sudipity, IMHO.

Can't we just take These Folks, and drop them off in A-Stan, where they can live out their lives under the nice, happy Shaira Law?

I can think of many "man caused" disasters: stopped up toilets, attempts at cooking something on the stove rather than the grill, buying 11 year old little girls "dad friendly" outfits, doing something nice like the laundry, only forgetting to sort it first.

Terrorism, unfortunately does not fall in that category for me.

'Most of the violence involves “cartel on cartel” fighting. So far, Napolitano says, U.S. officials do not see any evidence that cartels are targeting law enforcement or border officials on this side of the border. There has been an increase in the number of kidnappings in the Southwest U.S., but Napolitano says they largely seem to involve drug gangs targeting other drug gangs. '

So the numorous headless Mexican LEO's and the Mexican Police Station getting fragged had nothing to do with the Cartels and Drug related violence..........Ms. Napolitano has a interesting perspective on things.

OCCUR?! Your job is to make sure they don't.

Everytime I hear her name I think of the first time I learned of her, from TS's post and his warning. TS, I fear you will continue to be correct to expect the absolute worst.

Man caused disasters? Maybe this is just me. But, why are they bothering to come up with different phrases to make bad people sound not so bad?

Dear Jan,
You stupid B##ch! Perhaps you missed the Department of Justices news conference with AG Holder: Operation Xcellerator? Does that ring a bell you simpleton? 750 Mexican Cartel members arrested in the United States during the operation. I believe that was a long time ago, like...maybe February 25, 2009. http://www.usdoj.gov/opa/pr/2009/February/09-ag-162.html

Jan, pull your self away from MSNBC and put down that book "Know Your Power". If you pay attention you might see that Mexico is in one helluva fight for it's existence.

A few weeks ago, a recently retired army general hired to help the resort city of Cancun crack down on drug gangs was tortured and killed. His wrists and ankles were broken during the torture. Federal officials' main suspect: the Cancun police chief, who has been stripped of his duties and put under house arrest during the investigation.

Don't fret Jan the above story is just a simple example of what is going on in Mexico. Do you recognize the name Cancun. Yeah popular tourist spot for Americans. Jan did you know tourism is an important part of the Mexican economy. Did you also notice while drinking your Mai Tai that most major American networks were warning people to stay away from Mexico for Spring Break.

Jan, give up your dream of standing at the American/Mexican border proclaiming in front of the MSM; MR. OBAMA TEAR DOWN THIS WALL! Pelosi has already got that Kodak moment locked up.

Jan,

Come to my city and I will show you evidence, on a daily basis, that the cartels are here and they are exacting violence on American soil.

P.S.
Jan,
Did you happen to notice that DEA has just identified La Eme (The Mexican Mafia) with a standing army of tens of thousands of street soldiers across the United States, as a CPOT. Yep, a CPOT which is reserved for the Mexican and Columbian drug cartels. No longer Jan, we now have our very own home grown Cartel, La Eme. Jan, did you know that Surenos have infiltrated our armed forces and have left their grafitti on our military bases and far away lands like Iraq and Afghanistan.

In closing Jan, may I suggest that you read the same briefings I receive. You will soon learn that Mexico is in trouble, serious trouble. In 2008 there were 530 cops killed in Mexico.

Since January 2007 there have been 200 American citizens and 7000 Mexicans killed in the war.

In November of 2008 you were supportive of posting National Guard units at the border. What changed your mind? Are you too mining votes like your sister Pelosi?

I can go on all night and day but I am exhausted just thinking about all the work that needs to be done to overcome your stupidity.

Reverse marginalization.
Trying to make them look more human.
This may help to gain more ground with the anti-war agenda, or to soften the realism of a terrorist attack.

By them do you mean the politicians or the terrorists?lol The only way terrorists look more human is in a body bag. If we soften the realism of a terrorist attack, we are only crippling our country.

"Man-caused Disasters"......ah yes. The Party's New Speak dictionary is off to a flying start. Double Plus Good, I say to that.

So we now can start to referring to "Suicide Bombers" as......."A really, really, really depressed person, who just isn't understood. "

I can see it now.........

Dit dit dit dit dit dit dit

Good evening and welcome to the 11 pm news. I'm Packed Nicely.

Today in lower downtown Manhattan, a really, really, really depressed person who just isn't understood, caused a Man-made disaster. Reports indicate that the really really really depressed person who just isn't understood, set off a thing-a-ma-jig with a really loud bang and heat and flames, causing a terrible sight down there. Several thousand people were around the really really really depressed person who just isn't understood when he caused the man-made disaster.

Reports are coming in that several other really really really depressed people who just aren't understood caused some Man-made disasters in Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Denver and L.A., using the same thing-a-ma-jig with heat and flames.

On the lighter side, unemployment continues to tumble, gas and food prices continue to climb, families continue to loose their home to foreclosure, but with President Obama and Speaker of the House Pelosi, passing their new bill to change the National Anthem from Francis Scott Key's Star Spangled Banner to Bobby McFarrin's Don't Worry Be Happy, they feel things will change for the better.

[cut to tape] Pelosi: "With 500 million Americans loosing their jobs each day, we felt we needed to lift their spirits some. We feel getting rid of that old song that epitomizes violence to a kinder gentler song, Americans will start to feel good about themselves."

For Fuck's Sake.  :munchin
