I had seen this documentary a few years ago, but some recent thoughts of how I'd like to retire (God willing) had me think of it again. It is titled "Alone in the Wilderness". It is a story of a man who retires to the wilderness of Alaska who uses no power tools to build everything he has, and lives off the land. I highly suggest looking for it at a library, buying it, or maybe glancing at the TV Guide to see if it is on the listings. I believe it was on PBS. Here are the links

I used the search function, and have not seen any mention of this. Great display of self reliance and fortitude.

Ive watched the show on PBS twice. It could serve as a primer on how to sustain oneself in the wild.

He turned survival into a luxury.

I believe the cabin is now a historical landmark?

Maybe a two tape set? Twice the fun?

I think so, but it has been some time since I have saw the film.
