Folks,

I'm planning to travel next week to active duty army recruiting station in NY to enlist as a linguist. I've already worked out the two locations' (1501 Broadway , New York, NY and 688 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY‎) walking-distance proximity to the greyhound station at 625 8th Ave Port Authority. I considered the 13 hours drive, but I figure the car (parking, safety, etc.) would just be additional liability/headache

However, just part of contingency, I'd like to know if there's anyone that I can contact in case things go south (heavens forbid, ie. getting robbed, missing bus, got stranded etc.).

Call your recruiter if anything happens, they will almost certainly try to help.

If you are 13 hrs from NYC,, tell your recruiter to get you in somewhere else.

Used the 13 hr drive and go west to Helena Montana. Or Las Vegas Or ANYWHERE but NYC..

Does not compute... :confused::confused:

The Army MAVNI language pilot program only recruits in New York City

Recruitment for doctors and nurses is nationwide. I am a US-licensed registered nurse, enlistment as a linguist is part of PACE. I waited for almost 7 years for this program. I can accept failure, but I can't accept not giving my best (modified MJ quote)
