Islamic group taps Fayetteville senator
RALEIGH — Sen. Larry Shaw of Fayetteville, NC has been elected chairman of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Shaw, a Democrat, has served on the organization’s board for three years.
He described the council, known as CAIR, as a civil rights organization. Shaw said he looks forward to partnering with President Obama’s administration to protect civil liberties and help improve America’s international image.
“We just want to work with them to foster better understanding and mutual accommodating,” Shaw said.
The council is active on other issues, he said, such as sensitivity training with law enforcement and the efforts to bring peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors.
According to the news release, the nonprofit council is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties group, with 35 offices and chapters in the United States and Canada. It says it seeks to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

CAIR called 'turnstile' for terrorist suspects
'Proven record of senior officials being indicted, imprisoned, deported from U.S.'
As the Council on American-Islamic Relations lobbies Congress to help strike its name from a list of co-conspirators in a federal terror case, WND has learned the Muslim group's ties to terrorism and extremism are far more extensive than first believed.
Although CAIR is a nonprofit organization, it does not disclose complete directories of its staff or advisory boards, and even refuses to make its federal tax filings readily available to the public.
But a review of federal criminal court documents, past IRS 990 tax records and Federal Election Commission records detailing donor occupations, reveals that Washington-based CAIR has been associated with a disturbing number of convicted terrorists or felons in terrorism probes, as well as suspected terrorists and active targets of terrorism investigations.
"Their offices have been a turnstile for terrorists and their supporters," said one FBI veteran familiar with recent and ongoing cases involving CAIR officials.
Thats my guy.
Cumberland County is split by the 21st and 19th State Senate Districts.
The 21st is Central fayetteville running off to the west and north.
He's safe for as long as he wants the seat.
My vote is always for the other guy.
Senator Shaw is a Muslim.

How can a sitting Senator be the front man and advocate for a foreign organization???
Has the Senator declared himself a Foreign Agent under the FARA act??
Two statutes regulate the disclosure of lobbying activity by foreign principals and foreign agents: The Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA)[1] and the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA). [2]FARA covers lobbying activity by all foreign agents and foreign principals, but the law allows foreign agents who lobby on behalf of foreign business interests the option of registering under the less restrictive LDA. Other federal statutes, such as the Federal Elections Campaign Act and the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, restrict foreign nationals from making campaign contributions or buying gifts for government officials.
The Foreign Agents Registration Act was the first attempt at major lobbying reform at the federal level. FARA’s primary purpose was to limit the influence of foreign agents and propaganda on American public policy. The law arose specifically in response to a perceived propaganda drive by Adolph Hitler to fan the Nazi movement in the United States. Though there was no explicit evidence, President Franklin Roosevelt and many members of Congress believed that Hitler was helping finance the Nazi movement.
FARA requires every agent representing a foreign principal to register with the Department of Justice and file disclosure forms outlining the purpose of representation, income and expenditures by the agent on behalf of the foreign principal. FARA requires only registration of foreign agents and disclosure of their activities. It does not attempt to restrict the behavior or lobbying activities of foreign agents, but other statutes do.
Confused?? :confused::confused::confused:

JJ_BPK - State legislature, not subject to the Federal rules. Besides - CAIR isn't a front organization for foreign terrorists; just ask them, they'll be happy to "educate" you.:p
