purgatory

I've heard this mentioned around the shop, lately. I'm not exactly sure if this is true, but I can ask around. I know that Baghdad has come a long way since 2005, however my coworkers and I are somewhat skeptical about this.
"socializing publicly with Iraqis in a way that was unimaginable even a few months ago."
Granted, it has been a few months since I left East Baghdad (the 82nd replaced us) but there was no way this would ever happen. Buying drinks is a GO violation as it is mentioned and a scene like that only creates a ripe target in a place where suicide bombings still regularly occur. Soldiers dancing and drinking beer on a patrol?
