Thanks Saoirse...I have an English friend who sends me these jokes. I also have quite a few Irish jokes he passes on since the English love to "Take the Mickey" out of the Irish. I'll post them with your permission. :D

The English took a lot more than "the Mickey" out of the Irish. That said, had they not done so, my ancestors may have remained in the "old country."

A bit like some New Yorkers I know.
Mind you, once you realize it ain't personal, it's actually quite refreshing.
I especially like the "Yes my son inbreed with a Kiwi Girl" bit. :D

The English took a lot more than "the Mickey" out of the Irish. That said, had they not done so, my ancestors may have remained in the "old country."
They did the same to my ancestors to the North and with the same predictable result...which is why they came to Middle Plantation in Maryland in 1650. Those who refer to me as an "Anglo" get the full story and do not make that error twice. ;)

My apologies gents (and lady). Myself being of Scottish/Irish descent I never took the jokes my "mate" sent me to heart as they were in friendly jest. I realize now posting Irish jokes regardless of the humor contained would be in poor taste. Its definitely true the English have done a lot over the years to oppress their Scottish/Irish/Welsh neighbors.
This is good..
My youngest was sent to OZ to design an centralized & integrated tax system. Part of the effort was to consolidate all the miscellaneous smaller data bases into a NATIONAL data base. Exactly what this note talks about..
She also found and latched onto my future son-in-law..
From the tone of the note, he could have written this???

Its definitely true the English have done a lot over the years to oppress their Scottish/Irish/Welsh neighbors. Gosh. . . didn't you see the great big smile? I was joking. Sheesh, let's lighten up a tad (A lot). I love Irish jokes. They are almost as good as teasing the English that there is little humorous about them.:D Big Smile, See?;)
