I like the whole story of the wolf’s reemergence in Yellowstone, though it is not part of this story, wolves are an American Icon and I have followed their expansion of territory for years. In a way, I am not surprised that they will be remove from the protection species list. It will not be long afterwards that their numbers significantly fall I would think.

The big problem with reintroducing wolves is they didn't reintroduce their primary prey species-the bison.

I've heard it stated that the Canadian wolves being reintroduced into the states are bigger and stronger than their "lower 48" cousins.
Problem is the animals they eat down here are not as big and strong as the prey animals they evolved with.
Any one else hear about this environmental mismatch?

In Oregon we are are feeding the wolves sheep, at least for now.
