So what we need to do is make everyone on welfare do these jobs and we save the labor cost and can do more projects.

It would be interesting to see this list broke down by Senator/Rep party affiliation's states and/or districts.

I shouldn't have started looking at these projects. It's nothing but pork/waste...I'm just getting pissed off.

ZK--

Are you kidding? Did you not see all those light rail projects? Why, those puppies pay for themselves (http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=9958)!

You can narrow down projects to municipality and then cross reference using Google Earth by clicking on the box Primary Database --> More --> U.S Government --> US Congressional Districts. Once you zoom into a district, there will be a star icon that, when toggled, provides the name and party of the representative. HTH.

If the stimulus works and if the White House manages to co-opt the 2010 Census from the Department of Commerce (and then tweak the software models that project populations), the Democrats will have a great opportunity to reshape the American political landscape by using the success of the plan in conjunction with the census data to redraw congressional districts and apportion future federal spending.

I think I has a tingling sensation rolling down my leg when POTUS signed this bill in my current state. Yeah, Sure.

I heard the guy that introduced him here is the CEO of a solar panel company in the state. During the intro, this guy says that the solar panel busiiness is booming (alternative energy you know) and they can't keep them on the shelf, but his business is going under. Wonder why? He closes his business for six weeks every year with full pay for employees (oh, the European Model). But, he'll get a huge chunk of the pork, I'll bet; and it won't be the loin.

THAT is a terrific post. I now know what the price of a Senator is. Alen Sphincter (AKA) Benedict Arlen, should save himself the shame and just retire, he says however he will seek another term.

At a visit to this area yesterday he said to those who chastised him for his vote "I voted for the sake of the nation. Not, to pacify a party agenda".

So what we need to do is make everyone on welfare do these jobs and we save the labor cost and can do more projects.

That was a possibility at one time. A similar program under Roosevelt (WPA) had some success. But, with PC to other organizations and individuals its all but an impossibility now.

This stimulus bill looks like another welfare handout to me. Nothing in there is going to stimulate the economy. I think they are confused about what stimulating the economy means.

So, now that all of these shovel-ready projects are going to be funded (in part anyway) by the Federal government, I suppose my Virginia taxes are going to be reduced accordingly.

I mean, after all, there's no sense in me helping to pay via my tax dollars for projects that are already being paid for.

I might get more than $13 per week from this thing after all. Then again, maybe not.

(edit to remove reference to Stimulus Package. The Stimulus Package is not part of the funding for these projects.)

If you look at the right county, Palm Beach, Broward, & Dade. They account for the major portion of Fl Pork.

My email to my county commissioner/mayor.

Just received the list of Stimulus projects submitted.
Found it on a the web page maintained by Stimulus Watch.
Thought you might like a look.

www.stimuluswatch.org/project/by_state/FL

There are 1753 projects for the State of Florida, totaling 15,644,718,723..

Funny thing is, I could not find one(1) project for Monroe County??

I also checked to see if anyone received money's for "SEWERS"..

The report lists 12 pages,, I'm guessing well over 100 projects,, several
hundred million dollars..

You might want to set some time aside at the next commissioners meeting to
address this topic.

Thanks you for your time..

His reply was that our money was in there but in a different spot???

RANT ON

I'm very dissatisfied with the pork barrel way the monies are being distributed. If you over lay the Blue/Red map on Florida counties,, 75-80 % of the money is going to the Dem's..

And I am sure they will gloat how well they did getting fat welfare checks to their constituents..

The reference to sewer money in my note:

Monroe county is under the gun, the tree huggers and FEMA have got together and sued the state because they want us to have a super duper sewer system, court say by 2010. We are a National Marine Scanuary...

Neither FEMA, the state, nor Federal want to give use any money. The current guesstimate is it will cost east home owner a 20-30K and should be able to run with a 100 USD monthly utility bill..

The reason it costs so much,, We live on a rock,, most of the sewage would need to be trucked or pumped 130 miles to the main-land..

If it's not in on time FEMA is going to yank our wind-storm & flood insurance, and the banks will terminate mortgages for lack of..

We are not happy campers...

RANK OFF..

FWIW,

Stimulus Watch has retooled its website. New features include more advanced search options and the ability to voice one's approval/disapproval for specific projects.

The URL is http://stimuluswatch.org/2.0/

IMO, before using the data available at this website to smash and to bash one's left leaning, wrong thinking friends, it may be worth while to double check the stimulus money going to red states. My $0.02.

Thanks for the update, I had forgotten about the website. I like the new look of it, makes it easier to search.
