"Buck" was quite a character and I don't think there's anyone who was around 3/5th SFG during the mid '80s that doesn't remember him. He was something of a paradox in the SF community. He was originally from the Island of Grenada and gave up a teaching career to join The Legion. He had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to party. Imagine if you can someone like Bob Marley but with a crew cut and spit shined jump boots. I can still remember that distinctive Caribbean accent, "hey mon how's it swinging?" During Urgent Fury he got to fly around in a Psyops bird and try to convince the defenders to lay down their arms. Someone in higher command put him up tp that after they found out he was a native. He also lit up a few cars after they tried to drive through a checkpoint that he was manning. Grenada is a pretty small place and I understand that he may have even done some work for the spooks in identifying key people among the population. The last time that I saw Buck we were at the range firing 203s and he was acting as a safety by reminding everyone to be careful. When it was his turn to fire he accidently fired without the barrel evevated. The round detonated about 25 meters out and several others including myself were stung with shrapnel. He earned some colorful names that day.

Buck, what ever happened to you?
