Hello,

I have two questions for the QPs. I have searched the forums and haven't found any exact information, and I am seeking advice from you as my experience with recruiters so far has been contradictory.

A little background, I am currently in college with one year left before I graduate with a bachelors in Human Biology, and I currently work as an EMT. My ultimate goal is serve in a medical position in the military (hopefully as a 18D), and I hope to start the 18x pipeline immediately after I graduate.

1) I have student loans that I have taken out to complete my degree. I have been told that outstanding loans are a negative factor in receiving a security clearance. I know there are many factors that are taken into account, but I wanted to see if you QPs had heard of anyone having issues with this.

2) My school offers a major in International Relations with emphasis on the middle east, and they also offer a language program in Arabic. I wanted your opinion on the benefit of possibly double majoring in the IR program, and taking the Arabic classes. I see the benefits of it (especially the language training) but since that material is already incorporated in some regard the pipeline, I wasn't sure if it was worth the extra year in school (I am eager to enlist) and if it was worth the extra cost, which relates to question one.

Thank you for your time, the information on this site is invaluable,

John
