I realize I am new here. I just have one question. I am 32 years old, and scored 282 on my most recent APFT ( 75 sit ups, 65 push ups, and a little under 14:00 on the run). Is this a good score compared to PT in SFAS? It's around 270 or so in the 17-21 age group. I do PT all the time, including ruck marches. I just want to make sure I am prepared for when I go to SFAS in April.

I don't know, is that the very best that you can do?

I recommend more PT time on the Search button.

You think we may have discussed PT and SFAS here before during the past five years?

You might start with the stickies.

Are you sure you're going in April?

I passed SFRE back in Fall AND already had a security clearance... and despite busting my ass and nagging my chain every other day I'm still probably not going until at least April or most likely May.

I'm also in the NG so that might have something to do with it. But unless you have orders you may be in for a longer wait than you think.

The recruiter came out here and met me. He told me I could pick which month I wanted to go ( Feb, Mar, Apr). So I told him April.

What's the start day for the April SFAS out of curiosity? I'm hoping I can make it in under the wire for that one.

Didn't you have to take an SF physical?

I don't know how different the NG is about it than AD. We have to pre-screen to get into the unit by running a PFT, ruck, and O-Course, then the unit sends us to SFAS after we have our clearances settled, physicals done, etc

Yes I know. I understand that. I have been working on PT all the time. My most recent PT test was in October.

If it has NOT? Then I would highly suggest that, you spend more time PTing and less time on the computer.;)

Stay safe.

Training for the Army PT test is a crock of shit on the battlefield currently. One of the largest lessons learned from the killing fields of Afganistan now a days is that the Army's physical training program has failed. Training for a PT test does not help a soldiers conditioning in the current fight in the current theatre anyway. Train for a PT test and you train to Fail!

Not lookin too good:

Can't use capital letters properly.

Can't read and comprehend simple instructions before posting.

Fails to follow board rules about underage posters. Provides real name on open forum for stalkers and jihadis.

Unable to use Search button and yet asking for personal favors.

You presume to put "Green Beret" in your user name, yet don't actually seem to be one. What would you like your new user name to be? You pick it, or shall I?

A strong back and a weak mind are of little use to us. You need to start reading, searching, and following simple instructions.

TR,

Hook him up with a good one!

I'd suggest one, but ...as you can see, picking a user name is NOT my strong suit.

Based on demonstrated performance - TARFU would be an appropriate moniker. Ever been snipe hunting there, TARFU? ;)

Just asking a simple question...

If it was so simple maybe you should have simply done a simple search before asking...

Ok. I guess the secret is out.

I was going to use "PYT" but I didn't want to draw undue attention to myself.
