At one time I was into cartridge collecting big time. My collection ranged from the Cased Rifle cartridges of the Civil War period to present, specializing in strange and un-usual cartridges.

Below is one that took some time locating and obtaining.

Anyone care to take a guess as to just what it might be. Also, if anyone has had the occasion to fire this round, I'd appreciate their personal feedback on it.

7.62x51 out of Frankfort Arsenal Plant, case manufactured in 1965.

Possibly a duplex load?

Looks green to me.

And there was a lot of duplex experimentation in the 1960s.

Yes it is a duplex load. Im gonna have to make em more difficult in the future.
