This election was clearly stolen. The ballot markings were interpreted almost exclusively in Franken's favor by a partisan Democratic election board.

The guy, IMHO will prove to be a total disgrace and embarrassment to the senate, or he will realize the importance of the position and rise to the occassion.
Remember this is the state that voted Jesse Ventura in as Gov.
A side note to the Frankin story is there were three guys in the race. 2 loons and the Republican. The other loon got something like 20% of the vote. If just 600 more had voted for the other loon the Republican would have won.
Kinda' like the Barr voters here in NC but they did throw it to the other guy.
Illinois, New York, Louisiana, New Mexico, Connecticut, DC...and now Minnesota. What a way to run a political party!

One Plus One Equals 20 Extra Votes For Franken
Ann Coulter
18 Dec 2008
It's bad enough that the Republican Party can't prevent Democrats from voting in its primaries and saddling us with The New York Times' favorite Republican as our presidential nominee. If the Republican Party can't protect an election won by the incumbent U.S. senator in Minnesota, there is no point in donating to the Republican Party.
The day after the November election, Republican Sen. Norm Coleman had won his re-election to the U.S. Senate, beating challenger Al Franken by 725 votes.
Then one heavily Democratic town miraculously discovered 100 missing ballots. And, in another marvel, they were all for Al Franken! It was like a completely evil version of a Christmas miracle.
As strange as it was that all 100 post-election, "discovered" ballots would be for one candidate, it was even stranger that the official time stamp for the miracle ballots printed out by the voting machine on the miracle ballots showed that the votes had been cast on Nov. 2 -- two days before the election.
Democratic election officials in the miracle-ballot county simply announced that their voting machine must have been broken. Don't worry about it -- they were sure those 100 votes for Franken were legit.
Then another 400-odd statistically improbable "corrections" were made in other Democratic strongholds until -- by the end of election week -- Coleman's lead had been whittled down to a mere 215 votes.
Since then, highly irregular counting methods have added to Franken's total bit by bit, to the point that Coleman is now ahead by only 188 votes.
As long as Coleman maintains any lead at all, Republicans don't seem to care that Coleman's advantage is being shrunk by laughable ballot "discoveries" and disreputable standard-switching from precinct to precinct -- depending on which method of counting ballots is most advantageous to Franken.
Consider a few other chilling examples of Democrats thieving their way to victory over the years.
In 1974, Republican Louis Wyman won his race for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire, beating Democrat John Durkin by 355 votes. Durkin demanded a recount -- which went back and forth by a handful of votes until the state's Ballot Law Commission concluded that Wyman had indeed won by (at least) two votes.
Wyman was certified the winner by the New Hampshire secretary of state and was on his way to Washington when ... the overwhelmingly Democratic U.S. Senate refused to seat Wyman.
Despite New Hampshire's certification of Wyman as the winner of the election, this was the post-Watergate Senate, when Democrats could get away with anything -- up to and including a prank known as "President Jimmy Carter."
The U.S. Senate spent months examining disputed ballots from the New Hampshire election. Unable to come up with a method to declare the Democrat the winner that didn't require a guillotine, the Senate forced New Hampshire to hold another election.
It was a breathtaking abuse of power. New Hampshire had certified a winner of its Senate election, but it was a Republican, so the Democratic Senate simply ordered a new election.
Demoralized Republicans stayed away from the race and, this time, the Democrat won the re-vote.
Even more egregious was the Indiana House race in 1984. On election night, the incumbent Democrat Frank McCloskey appeared to have won a narrow victory of 72 votes. But after a correction was made in one county, it turned out his Republican opponent, Richard McIntyre, had won by 34 votes.
McIntyre was certified the winner -- which is when the trouble usually starts for a Republican.
Again, a majority Democrat House refused to seat the certified winner in a close election. I'm sure it was just a coincidence that the winner was a Republican.
Consequently, Indiana performed yet another recount of the entire district, which again showed that Republican McIntyre was the winner -- this time by 418 votes. Now he was really asking for it. The nerve of this guy! Hey, buddy, do you mind? We're trying to throw an election over here!
As The Washington Post reported at the time: There were "no allegations of fraud" in the recount and 90 percent of ballot disqualifications had been agreed to "by election commissions dominated by Democrats."
So naturally the House refused to seat the Republican even though he had received the most votes (hereinafter referred to as "the winner"). The House proceeded to conduct its own recount. (If you haven't detected a pattern by this point, please ask your doctor if Prilosec is right for you.)
This time, instead of ordering the district to hold another election, the Democratic House saved all concerned a lot of time and money by simply declaring Democrat Frank McCloskey the winner by four votes.
The vote-theft most like Minnesota this year was the infamous 2004 gubernatorial election in Washington State. The Republican won the race on election night, but ballots favoring the Democrat kept being "discovered" until the Democrat finally eked out a majority. At that point, the recount was immediately halted and the Democrat declared the victor.
You would have to go back to Reconstruction to find an election that was stolen by the Republicans this way, but it's all in a day's work for the Democrats.
That's why they were so testy about the 2000 Florida election. It was the one time in the last century Republicans wouldn't let Democrats steal an election they lost by less than a thousand votes.
No matter how many times Democrats steal elections, Republicans keep thinking the next time will be different. Minnesota is famously clean, isn't it? It must different. It's not different. It's still the Democrats.

One can only wonder if Michael Moore is taking notice of this Senate election.
This continues and the military will soon be answering to oprah or madonna as CinC.
Comedians as senators. This is madness.
We don't need enemies, we'll destroy ourselves.
Weren't there something like 200+ unsecured ballots that 'appeared' the day after the election in the Election Directors car. How can they legally submit, let alone process ballots that were unsecured.
Regardless of your candidate of choice, this is freaking SHAM.
At least CSPAN will be as amusing as the Comedy Channel:(

I just don't know what's wrong with people anymore.
It's simple Gypsy, they are idiots....that is what it comes down to. The idea that they did not like the way they were treated in the military, didn't like the way they were raised, etc., and are now trying to "change" it. It's what Obama ran on, it's why he won, and that's the way it really is.
Some of these people in society today kill me. At a recent social gathering, I was amazed that the whole conversation revolved around video games (Rock Band seemed popular) and movies. Seemed to me the basis on life today is not so much based on reality as it is the idea of "just keep your head in the sand and nothing can bother you".
People today are lost.
The Roman emperor Caligula made his horse, Incitatus, a Senator. So things could get worse.... ;)

If and when a real crisis occurs, we will learn something about the character of various politicians. If their character proves to be weak or flawed, we will pay a price for our poor choices; hopefully, we'll learn from our errors.

As much as I love the Land of 10,000 lakes, this is really an embarrassment. It is sad that the election was close enough to be affected by a recount. I am one Minnesotan who did not vote for the clown...I hope my vote was counted as such:mad:. Sorry guys, back in my lane.
I don't know......maybe we should have elected Pat Paulson president. (I know...WHO?.....Somebody explain that to the younger folks.....)
I wonder about the American people sometime, relected people with crimal records, mayor of DC, classic example, busted for coca.
Fraken outright scares me, actually the new Democrate party scares me, we are going more and more socialist, I mean like when JOE the plumber asked a questions they ripped into his personal life, have we gotten to the point we can not ask our reps questions, only the left wing press can.
I work @ the VA and they wanted to ban FoxNews:eek: siad they where bias.

Isn't that what Khrushchev said in the 1960's? It may be coming to pass.
Now we have "Stuart Smalley" riding in from Minn. Sweet!
I hope he just continues to look into his mirror and keeps telling himself. "I won this election, I earned this election and doggone, I deserve this election!"

TS,
You should move over here to the beautiful Sunshine State, and enjoy the wonderful fish we have. Florida is great for fishin', and golf, can't forget golf.
:( As a transplated Minnesotan, I almost feel obligated to apologize for what my fellow Minnesotans have done!!! But I won't! I am so disappointed in and embarrassed by their decision and their moronic way of handling this whole election between those two morons! Now I definitely know I can never go home again. :( It's enough to put me in mourning.

Well at least he volunteered for the USO shows in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I think he has done them every year for at least the past 5. He was hilarious at Camp Phoenix, where I saw him around Christmas in 06. Especially the part about how he tried to recruit Sylvester Stalone to come along. Stalone responded with "We'll isn't it sort of dangerous over there?" Franken asked him. "Didn't you use to be Rambo?" Franken was really nice, posing, chatting with the troops.

No way he should be in the Senate, because:
he's not good enough,
he's not smart enough,
and doggone it, people don't like him.
But, then again, this would apply to much of the Senate.

It's been forty years since I failed my college statistics class, twice. However, I barely passed when I retook both in the summer. All this is to say, I'm not a stat expert by any means, but I do remember discussion that may apply here. The first "recount" resulted in all added votes going to Franken and that trend continued to the current result. I have been a witness to a recount and firmly believe that result is virtually statistically impossible. The likelihood of all erroneous ballot corrections applying to only one candidate is nil. Of course, should anyone be surprised by this American Tragedy?

It is extremely disappointing that this Goon will be a Senator. Even the most liberal of rags the “(Red) Star Tribune” endorsed incumbent Senator Coleman.
Mr. Franken has visited my school numerous times in the past years, and even threw his pre-election day rally there, where the “Kool-aid” was flowing like the Mighty Mississippi.
It seems that “Fargo” conception of a bumbling Minnesotan has been cemented now with a comedian “pulling the wool over” and stealing this election.
It brings to mind another quote from Stalin, “It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.”

I've not crunched the hard numbers, but my education is in this area and I've recently done similar analysis.
What my intuition says:
It is impossible for an "honest" error to result in a net shift that great.
The only way a "legitimate" shift this great could happen was if Franken ballots (frankenballots :D) were deliberately suppressed in the original count.
-Not likely in the districts where these "frankenballots" are being brought to life.
I only see two possible explanations...
- The Franken camp generated fake ballots.
- The Coleman camp supressed ballots and those ballots were found and counted.
Either way... the quilty party needs a good dose of public exposure followed by a brief orientation on the dangers of curb stomping.

I know nothing should surprise me any more...
From Gregoire stealing the election in WA. to Obama getting elected at all, why should I be surprised when the media blatantly ignores what any reasonable person can see is a deliberate attempt to steal another election.
This should be too blatant even for our press, but I guess there really is no end to what the left will permit in order to get their way.
Damn the republic, full speed ahead, eh progressives?

It looked to me like the Dims were trying the same thing in 2000 that Franken got away with this time.
Counting marginal votes, invalidating opposition votes, and denying absentee ballots of military personnel.
Looks more to me like a failed attempt to steal the POTUS 2000 election, and a successful one by Franken in 2008.
