I just read that online. Finding a stash of those magazines "hidden" in the basement was one of the first thrills of my life! I always tried to put 'em back just like I had found them. Doubt I fooled my step-father.

You are correct, sir! (In my best Ed McMahon imitiation! Too bad to see that Marine fighter jock on such hard times.) It was strange. I always envied Rock Hudson's "way" with women - until it was finally revealed that he was, indeed, one of the greatest "actors" of all time! :D

Please do not despair in the least, I have attended seminars on the polishing of rare and extraordinarily difficult to finish metals conducted by St. Peter himself (better polish= less paperwork at his end of things).
We might be able to get the scratches out of yours. :D
Edited to add: This doesn't begin to approach the technical skills levels needed to work on the QP's stuff.

I saw a few of them around some of the air bases in SEA but I think it pretty much disappeared along with the draft circa mid-70s. IIRC, it was more tabloid/muck-raking than the 'Stars and Lies' sold in the PX/BX. There were also a number of 'underground' pubs back then which were oriented towards the EM and draftees vs the officer and lifer types.
The old 'Veritas' put out by JFKCENMA also had a pinup inside the back cover of every issue back then...along with the Vargas-like Gretta the Green Beret pics.

She was apparantly a "libber" and wherever she went, she was always cold!:o Then she came back from Vietnam and got "respectable":mad: And I, too, remember going to the FoxHole . . . I remember going more often then leaving!:D
In true groundbreaker style, there was an awful lot i learned about photography and the nature of a provocative image from her and her shooters. Study the greats and implement(steal) what you can.

Oh, yes. Connie Rod. She was hot and drawn in the Will Eisner style he used for his 'Spirit' comics. FWIW, the reason I used to fly PSA was the stews wearing those hot pants and white vinyl go-go boots. That was dromedary phalanges heavan. :D
