I asked this questions and someone advice to post it here to see if someone else could help answer it.
I'm a Medic, SSG for a Sapper company. I went to SFAS a couple of years back and was medically sent home after a injury during the star course that left me with a fractured ankle an multiple ligament tears. To this day I wear an AFO (ankle foot orthosis) to keep my foot at an 90 degree angle. I refused to do surgery since it wold fuse my bones and kick me out of the service, instead I wear that prosthetic. I currently do not hold a medical profile (I don't want one) and I am perfectly able to run marathons, ultra races or 20 mile ruck marches and pass Sapper school wihtout a problem (with a little pain) and want to go back to SFAS and try again, but I have reservations, since I have never heard of any SF Soldiers wearing prosthetics...do you know of any Soldiers in SF or that have tried SF service with successful carrers? or if is even possible?
