Yes folks it's that time of year.
Operation Toy Drop at Fort Bragg

0100, a pot of coffee and a new toy for the chance of a Hollywood Jump?
All you can say is AIRBORNE!
We did the Toy Drop jump last year and had a blast.. Though exiting 24 MFF jumpers on a single pass from a CH-47 (even though it was a 5 sec delay between 3 exit groups) played hell on the landing pattern. Never mind the last minute change that put all the MFF guys onto 1 bird, right when we were set to lift off. What a goat screw.. We had a group over the lead edge, in the center, and about midway from center to trail edge at opening. But we all landed safe with several freshly freefall qualified toys. The guys running the jump do a kick ass job of running it. If you're not drawn in the lottery, just show up that morning. Like any jump on Bragg, there's usually room for a strap hanger.
I will be out of town this year, but am dropping off the toys ahead of time for the kids. Besides, I already have German and Irish wings, it's time for someone else to get their wings.
This is my 1st toy drop, I actually was able to get manifested! The last one I was manifested for I missed for the birth of my oldest, I hold it against him to this day!:D Sounds like a good time!
