If the article is genuine, it is lovely.

Excellent Article. We dont get to see the opinion of other nations' military too often.

Wow... that was one of the more heartening reads I've seen in quite a while. If we lived in a sane world, stuff like this would be on the front page of newspapers in the Western world on a weekly basis.

Kudos to this French man for showing respect where it is due.

It's been my experience that a great deal of those on the ground just want to apply their trade, regardless of nationality. It's just the lack of political will from their leadership that keeps them from doing what they see as right.\

Good read, thanks!

Awesome read... It's always great to hear what other soldiers TRULY think about us. We are for once not getting a politically driven comment of our troops.

Thanks for the post, every US citizen needs to read it.

Thanks for posting this piece; it is always a good thing to hear from those with their 'boots on the ground' so to speak.

FWIW - I dealt with the French army during DS1 while assigned to the embassy in Bonn and in moving troops/material to the Balkans, Provide Comfort, and Somalia while with the ACSCMO at 21st TAACOM. It was my experience that their news media and politicians--much like ours--said one thing while the people we worked with at the operational levels of the Ministry of Defense and LOGCOM-Metz were embarassed by it all and supported us wholeheartedly.

I really enjoyed reading that, something about soldiers always being better people then the general population they protect. Don't know if its enough to stop the French jokes, but its good to know what the people who actually know and work with our men in uniform think.

Very refreshing from the civilians, reporters, and politicians who know whats really going on..
