Appreciate the well wishes.

It will be retirement in name only.

Still paying child support (bet none of you guys know about that) but I digress.

The Taliban are apparently still very much in need of the medicine you guys administer; so I will be playing pharmacist and helping dispense the pills.

Godspeed pals.

Proud of you.

Now comes the hard part of hanging up the uniform, figuring out what to wear each day!:D

Find some good hunting spots up there and I'll see you next year!;)

Let's see - NO Hurricanes, but there are "occasional" blizzards. No gators or armadillos, but antelope should be a worthy substitute. NTM you'll be the only guy in the country getting BH ammo when you order it! :p What's not to like? Congratulations and good luck in the transition.

Yeah P ... the only thing we got piled that high ... and that white ... in Texas ... is cocaine.

Went up there a few weeks ago looking for houses with momma ... deer, turkey and elk walking through people's yards:eek:

No wonder the Lakota people call that area sacred.

But toss a CoonAss (Cajun) in the mix and you just got yourself one big problem.

Good thing I didn't have a rifle in the truck or I'd still be calling you guys to throw my bail.

I wasn't always a cop ...

Brian:

Congratulations, and thank you for your service.

I agree, you will still be helping the boys take the war to the bad guys, just in a different way.

You should be able to get some good deals for the charity as well.

Will you be in the BH booth at SHOT?

Take care, be safe.

I friggin' love Rick ... man we need to hoist one or five. Been too long.

TR -

Will be at my booth proper for the last year ... floating back and forth between mine and BHA.

Some folk of your ilk I need to meet will be there and I will be running around like a mad man ... again.

I will run at this ... just like I do everything else ... attack, attack, attack.

We are at war after all and I have friends in the fight.

brianksain:

I understand your need to continue to work, although by the time I retired from LE after 34 Years of service my child support was done. ;)

Sometimes, I miss the 'job,' especially my days in the bomb Disposal and SWAT units. I guess I'm a confirmed adrenaline junky. At one time I was doing SF Reserve stuff and all the crazy things in my LE agency. Bombs, Motors, Diver, SWAT, etc.

My life is pretty sedate now. At age 77, I guess thats par for the course. My wife likes to cruise so we take a couple of cruises a year, mostly on the Princess line. I try to stay active in my SFA chapter and the 1st Cavalry Div. Assn. NW Chapter.

I do recommend cruising for retirees that can afford it. It's a great way to relax and get away from all the mundane everyday problems, as well as eat, drink and see parts of the world you haven't seen before or in a different light.

We also have a State wide retired Police/Sheriff Association and most of the local chapter members are from my old department. I don't make all their meetings, since they meet once a month; however, I try to make a few during the year.

I've been retired from LE since 03.1990, so I'm accustomed to retirement!

Any way, enjoy your retirement and work towards your next one! ;)

Brian, sitting here sipping Knob Creek and trying to figure out how to get my sorry a** to the Shot Show.

Hopefully we can hoist a few there.

Maybe we can trick TR into buying a few. :D

Hey man ya gotta come.

We'd have a blast.

East coast gig ... and they HAVE TO KNOW you aren't going because you are into Mickey Mouse.

The ONLY advantage I can see over having it in Vegas ...

Congratulations! I've been retired now for 2+ years and it feels great after a certain adjustment period.:) They're right about the uniform. Although if you are like me (don't be!) at around 1900 hours East coast time I'm sitting in front of the TV watching "COPS" everynight, saying things I shouldn't in front of my 15 year old. Well, maybe a little isn't so bad!:p Key to retirment is to have a hobby that you'll enjoy for the rest of your life. Sounds like you already have one in your job. Great Deal. Still, stay safe and always watch your back!:)

Thanks again friends.

I find that the older I get ... I only want to be around cool, hard working people who love this country and will fight to defend her.

I have little tolerance anymore for those who skim off society or BS in general.

I have been forced to eat that sandwich for 20 years ... therefore, I need a change.

I think the new job will allow me the flexibility to use my talents to make a living and still help those who are sending our enemies straight to hell.

So ... life is good.

The Black Hills are probably one of my favorite places to visit...and can you say "STURGIS!"...

Dude you will have a blast--consider getting an RV and using your new home as a "launching point" so much to see and do...I envy you.

Sturgis is fifteen minutes up the road.

Been riding since I was old enough.

Always had at least one scoot in the living room ... draped in lights ... was our Christmas tree.

Plain white trash I tell ya.

Still don't know why TS lets me hang out:cool:
