WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.

Ms Onyango is paid a small stipend for working as a health advocate in her housing complex and has donated $260 (£160) to her nephew's presidential campaign.

So she gets paid by the Govt and is in Govt housing as an illegal? Does that mean Obama will have to give back her $260 as well?

I think that fact that someone pointed out another illegal is of little consequence.

1. Since when is an individual in anyway responsible for the behavior/legal problems of a "1/2 Aunt" or other relative?
2. Who's at fault for the an illegal alien living in public housing?
3. Who's responsible for the government hiring an illegal alien?
4. Who's responsible for the INS (or other gov. agency) for not doing it's job?

I think there is a good chance the Obama campaign had spoken to the Aunt before the London Times broke the initial story just to preempt any sort of Bidenism.
Speaking outside her home in Flaherty Way, South Boston, on Tuesday, Ms Onyango, 56, confirmed she was the “Auntie Zeituni” in Mr Obama’s memoir. She declined to answer most other questions about her relationship with the presidential contender until after the November 4 election. “I can’t talk about it, I just pray for him, that’s all,” she said, adding: “After the 4th, I can talk to anyone.”
Obama made her an issue by playing her up in his book and his own campaign has used her in PR fluff articles.
Obviously she has been on his mind these past few years so maybe he should have checked up on her. I would think that if he had known he would have helped her get citizenship but then that would also draw attention to the fact that she is still here?
The AP article (and I give the AP zero credit here since the London Times had to locate her for them then someone had to tip them off as to her legal status) mention about the directive from ICE raises new questions for me.
Onyango's case — coming to light just days before the presidential election — led to an unusual nationwide directive within Immigrations and Customs Enforcement requiring that any deportations before Tuesday's election be approved at least at the level of the agency's regional directors, the U.S. law enforcement official told the AP.
The directive suggests that the administration is sensitive to the political implications of Onyango's case coming to light so close to the election.
Does this mean that ICE already knew about her and if so for how long?

1. Only that person but if he as a Senator knew he should have assisted in getting her out to Kenya so he had less problems in the future. Only he knows.

Just out from BHO.... He said he did not know his aunt was living in the United States illegally and believes that laws covering the situation should be followed. He sure threw her under the Bus Fast.:eek:
I say kick her out Sunday......... But because of politics she will not be processed for a while...

I have about seven "Aunts" and uncles. I know each and every one. I also know each and every one is a LEGAL citizen. How do I know this, simple, they are part of my family.
Now as for the LIAR "b. hussein obama" stating he didn't know she was here illegaly, I would, without a doubt and would be willing to stake my life on it, especially after he "used" her like a tool in his book, I have no doubt he knew she was here illegally.
$10 bucks says someones going to link her to him as far as his aiding and abetting her illegal status, just watch.

I don't know if he is responsible for her illegal behavior but since he is running for President I don't think it is unfair to ask him if he knew his aunt was here illegally and if he knew she was being publicly subsidized. I don't think it is unfair to expect answers from Obama about what he knew and when he knew it. If elected he will have to take an oath of office swearing to defend the constitution and it would be very difficult to believe his sincerity if he knowingly turned a blind eye to the illegal activities of a relative. Not only has she violated immigration law but apparently she has committed fraud by accepting public assistance.
won't have any impact on the election at this point. those that notice this will have already noticed the myriad of other flashing red indicators why BHO shouldn't be president. people either care or they don't.
BHO can "no comment" on this for a couple more days at any rate...
