GA NG SF??

I've heard rumor/truth that the state of Georgia is getting its own NG SF units... I'd figure that this would be from 20th group.

Does anyone have any more info on this???

Yes there is rumor around Group of moving Aco 1/20th from Auburn, Al to Georgia as they are pushing for a company and they will probably get it. It wont be anytime soon though...

I've been looking for this info as well.

Thanks for the response Surgicalcric. Now I know the recruiter who told me a 19th group unit will be started by Robins Air Force base in 2009 was on pure speculation :(.

I finally went to the Chief of Staff for the Georgia Guard and asked him about this. He's former 10th GRP so he still has some contacts.

Short answer no. I do not remember the reason why only that the NG decided on a different direction than A/C.
