Looking for recommendations for contact management solutions....

Since starting the new job, I've been bombed with myriad business cards... and I'm wondering what the best way to keep track of the contacts?

What's the best card scanner for the money?

What's the best contact management software?

Any compatibility issues?

I too use Card Scan and it is a good way to manage them. I have also used IRS Card Mini and it also is GTG.:D:lifter

Thanks for the tip.

I like what they're offering in the CardScan Executive version (30 cards per min)

If an individual is NOT pertinent to the matter at hand; past, present or future...

1. I don't ask for a card.

Or

2. I discard the card.

In theory collecting cards sound like a good idea however; in reality, most are forgotten about or never used.

:D

Stay safe.

I'm out of the line of fire,,FOG,, but I subscribe to Guy's position. I still have a couple hundred b-cards,, old friends and businesses I like,, but have found over time,, the data is out of date, eg: new cell, new address,, new company,,

In 90% of the changes, I find out by phone as I sit in front of the PC and manual update my address book, so a card scanner would only be use for the initial 1st entry..

I use the address book in win outlook. All manual, but after loading all the right people, the maintenance is simple. Every so often I go through and delete dead names. I can export the data and move it to new PC's,, sync my laptop, or share with the kids & friends. I can use outlook's address book to create sub-sets of email's, one for politics, jokes, family, business a and/or b.

If I was to get into a scanner,, it would have to port into my email address book,, absolute minimum,, as that is my "source". I have room to keep everything, kid's names, BD & Anniversaries, notes, significant others,, etc..

If your secretary and hence the your "office" used MS Office or some other mail system, the scanner should link to the common system, no sence getting your secretary and also maybe your boss, jealous because of the "new toy" to a system they can't share..

At the same time,, ask your secretary & boss to share their address book(s), they probably already have 98% of the "new" ones you need to add??

My $00.00002

Again,, Congratulations on the promotion.. :D
