If this is at the incorrect spot please move.
Wasn't sure exactly where to post this
I took my first step into the (Semi) Military life today.
Went to the Future Soldiers Of America Shindig at my local Recruiters Office.
Had a Great Workout, Great time, Met a Good Group of Men & Women.
I can assure you this is going to be a weekly practice for me.
I'm taking my ASVAB Oct .16 and did a couple of practice test.
I can't believe how quick this is all happening, It's so great it's surreal.
I'm so proud I had to share, like I said this is the first steps into a great life.
Thanks & Good Luck to All

Got back the results from my ASVAB, and scored a 61 and Gt Line score of 106.
I'm thinking about retaking it,
but everyone tells me it's a good score and to keep it.
So I'll Probably just take their advice.
Good Day To All.

Just curious C-Fro, what 'job' where you interested in getting in your enlistment contract?

I'm not sure if you remember me or this post,
But I'd thought I would offer an update.
This Friday is my 17th Birthday,
I will be going in to the Recruiters to...well you all know.
Then on either Monday or Tuesday I will be going to Meps.
I hope all is going well for you also.

Another Update.
It took me slightly longer than I expected to get an Option 40 slot.
I had one reserved and I went to Meps yesterday, I got Option 40 in my contract.
I leave for Basic Training on 20100713 since I have to finish highschool and being in DEP.
From just looking at my first post in this thread, I can tell how far I came and how close I am accually becoming to this chosen lifestyle.
In the meantime although. I'll stick to training, training and training.

C-Fro,

By all means, congratulations to you and your decision. At the same time, don't train...just stay in the best shape you can (eat right and exercise) and HAVE FUN!!! You have about ten months left in your adolescent years, enjoy them (maturely and safely) and once you report, they will start your "training". Good luck and have fun.

Thank You Stickey,
10 months, Seems like a while but it'll be gone before I know it.
This has been long awaited.

good luck C-Fro. My nephew joined on an option 40 last january and just reported to 1st Ranger Bn in mid July. They lost a lot of people that joined with him and only 80 out of 200 passed RIP so keep your eye on the prize. the biggest factor is always your determination. never quit.
