5. People who don't pay attention to detail.
6. People who don't take responsibility for their own actions.
People who really believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question.
People who promote the idea that everybody in America can go to college--whether they have the intelligence to do so or not.
People who 'park' in the passing lane on the interstate and tie up anyone seeking to travel faster than they are going--even when there are signs posted which say things like 'Left Lane for Passing' or 'Keep Right Except for Passing.'

Dry cleaners who place permanent labels inside your clothes...
Parents who allow preschoolers to wander outside a five foot radius in public...

1. The first day back at school (tomorrow) with its endless, stupefying meetings going over new district policies and introducing the lastest incompetent, pumped-up, "I'm going to change everything" administrators. (Added to the remaining incompetent, faking being pumped-up, "nothing I set in place last year worked but we're going to keep plowing ahead anyway, but we'll throw these new initiatives into the mix, even though they came from California where they have already failed" administrators. It seems only the competent administrators "move on"!)
(With apologies to any competent administrators who may be reading. Please come work in my district!)
2. The second day back at school... (see above), plus having meetings with my burned out colleagues who really hate kids and haven't changed their lesson plans or teaching methods in 15 - 20 years.
3. Everyday back at school until the kids finally arrive and real school can begin, with the door to my classroom closed!
1. People who use their turn signal after they are midway through the turn.
2. People who will cross the center turn lane from the traffic lane as they turn left, without signaling.
3. People who will stop in a left or center traffic lane until they are allowed to cross lanes to turn right.
4. People who will swoop across two or more lanes of traffic to:
a. exit.
b. turn right or left.
c. slow down in front of other traffic.
d. apparently have no reason.
5. People who are oblivious or purposely refusing to recognize there is a motorcycle with loud pipes (hear) in the lane next to them and well in their peripheral vision (see), and are apparently willing to kill the motorcyclist for that lane.
1.) People who have been sitting in a drive thru line about 6 or 7 cars back, and haven't even begun to think about what to order until at the screen.
2.) Whoever decided that plastic guide rods for the Beretta 92F were a good idea.
3.) The alleged "express" lanes at wal-mart.
And one more...People who do NOT pull the hell over for Emergency Vehicles, be they Fire, or Ambulance! Come---on people! :(
(As have just experienced today.)

2. Jackass punks who can't wear a ball cap straight. If wearing it at a stupid angle represents a "gang sign" they should all be shot on site for the rest of our sakes.
3. Immigrants who don't speak English. In Wales you have 1 year to learn welsh or else you get kicked out. Sounds like a good idea.

AMEN, Brother!! Man, am I sick of folks sniveling about how "The Man" is always keeping them down. I actually had a classmate at a black college I was going to tell me that if she didn't collect welfare she would not be able to go to school. I asked her if the hair extensions and fake nails were part of that and she stated that she had kids, her husband worked a minimum wage job and they had to put gas in two cars. But she was wearing the latest in designer clothes, had her hair and nails done and looked like she had never done a day's work in her life. Get this, she was19 years old . I almost left the class that day.

There are lots of things that tick me off, but one thing really ticks me off. The fact that I have to wait over two months to get my college money from the GI Bill that I earned and paid into, but someone who is getting college fund money or a Pell grant get their money up front. No one thinks that it is a problem for me to have almost a thousand dollars to pay for tuition or books up front for my first semester. I am sick of the b.s. that veteran's put up with in this country. I do not understand why the V.A. cannot get the college to defer tuition until they can get the money to the school. What a bunch of retards.

LOL, I'll second that.
Here in the DC area, as soon as it starts to rain, you will see cars rolling around the Capital Beltway with their emergency flashers on. The majority of these cars don’t even have their headlights on, which is the state law in Maryland and Virginia, yet they will merrily roll down the road blinking like a Christmas tree.
My driver’s ed teacher in high school was also the girl’s varsity soccer coach. Coach K was a terrific, energetic teacher with a sarcastic sense of humor. One day, Coach K began his lecture by loudly stating, “Don’t ever, EVER, turn on your emergency flashers while your car is in motion. The flashers are there to warn other drivers that you are stopped and may be a potential hazard. They are to be used while the car is stopped. Don’t ever, EVER, turn them on while the car is moving. If I ever catch any of you with your blinkers on while driving, I will catch up to you and rip your head off!” He even put this question on a test, to further reinforce the point. Since then, I have never, EVER, turned on my blinkers while driving.:)
I can barely muster the strength to rant about it anymore when I see it. I just pity those people for not having had the benefit of taking a driver's education class with Coach K.:D
...Here in the DC area, as soon as it starts to rain, you will see cars rolling around the Capital Beltway with their emergency flashers on. ........
I an not geting into the lights on / lights off debate. Here in NC it's if your blades are moving your lights are to be on.
But one thing about flasher use and people driving too fast for conditions. If you're out on the interstate in a downpour you'll see people slow way down almost crawling. Get a grayish car and heavy rain, even with the lights on, somebody driving too fash for conditions will run right into the back of it before they see it. Flashers show up better from the rear.
I keep my shooting glasses in the car for rain and night driving.

Point well taken, Pete. I won’t disparage anyone for doing whatever they think is necessary to ensure their safety while driving in a heavy downpour. The post triggered memories and I wanted to tell my Coach K story (even though it is not my best driver’s ed story:)).
I believe the Europeans have a solution to this problem. I’ve seen various Audi and Mercedes-Benz models that have an additional switch or setting for a rear fog lamp, which is a constant-on lamp that is brighter than the rear lights that normally come on in conjunction with the headlights. I always thought the purpose was to increase visibility from the rear in heavy rain or fog.
When I was in Germany in the mid-90s, the last car in line in a Stau (traffic jam) would turn on their emergency flashers to alert those approaching from behind to slow down as traffic speed was slower than expected.

The growing misuse of 'strategy' in almost all sectors of American society.

People who act as if their food behavior reflects an advanced level of social ethics and political consciousness. Your shoes are made of what...? The last time you carpooled was when...?
The intellectually lazy practice of explaining conflicts as 'another Vietnam.'
Most sectors of the blogosphere.
Scholarly books that would better accomplish their goals if they were articles.
The ongoing inability of many Americans to realize that the people most humiliated by reality television are the viewers themselves.
Being called obsessive compulsive. Just because someone sometimes washes his hands, then washes his hands, and then washes his hands, before washing his hands does not mean the person is DSM-IV-TR 300.3. It just means I...I mean he:o...likes to make sure his hands are clean.;)
