My Dad a WWII Veteran from the Pacific Theater passed away last week. I did not now much about the Cemetery he was to be buried at on Long Island. Its strictly a Military Cemetery. Its the second largest in the Country. Arlington being the largest.
I was very impressed that the full Military Honors were carried out by the Old Guard. I don't know if the old Guard has Soldiers stationed there or if they are TDY. If any former Old Guard people can add to this I would appreciate it.
They can perform up to 30 Ceremonies a day there. It was one of the most professional Ceremonies I ever saw. Hats off to the Old Guard Team that performed this Ceremony.

Sorry for your loss, and may he rest in peace. My grandfather retired as a BG, he also served in WWII in the Army Air Corps. He passed away a couple years back and had full military honors. It was windy as anything, but those Old Guard guys did an amazing job regardless. Prayers out.

Sorry for your loss. I believe my cousin was the superintendant at that National Cemetery years ago before becoming the superintendant at Arlington. If it is the same place he told me about, it is a beautifully maintained and run site. A fitting place for your Dad's final bivouac.
