It happened on a cold, crisp day in February 2006 while I was visiting our nation's capitol. Standing at the WWII Memorial reading the names of the fallen heroes, time was suspended as my heart hurt with gratitude. My eyes began to fill up with tears, I tried to hold them back but I couldn't. I took a deep breath and looked up to thank God for those soldiers. As my eyes looked toward the sky, I witnessed the most unbelievable site - a beautiful, soaring bald eagle was circling above me. I stood there in awe. Eventually, the other visitors noticed me looking up. Someone yelled out, "It's a bald eagle, a bald eagle is flying right there!" Moments later. nearly 300 visitors were looking up to the sky to watch this magnificent symbol of our nation soar above us. It was like God was saying, "I know, I understand" - an acknowledgement from above of these soldiers' sacrifice.
By far, one of the most memorable moments of my life.
Add em' on if you got some.
