Very nice set-up....the Hellcat I w/the "bib" is an excellent combination, and I agree Sotech stuff is solid.

For everything in the pics, around $500.

Got a nice tax return this year, so I figured why not?:D

I would have thought leggings, a cap box, and a forage bag.

Hoping to fix that soon enough...trying to augment to an active duty SSP for OIF 2. They are giving me a ration of shit for my tattoos right now for re-enlistment (don't ask, the Corps now officially hates tattoos on prior service Marines, even though I got mine on AD), but I should be o.k.

1. Do you also have a compass and GPS on your first line?
2. Do you carry any first aid supplies?

Are you going to get that holster that fits in the bib?

Yes, Stabo Rig, Pistol Belt/w Quart Canteen Covers for Mag Pouches, Indig Ruck, Took the Pockets off of the bottoms of the Jungle Blouses and had mama-san sew them up on the shoulders. We did wear Leggings (WWII Spats that were soaked in GI Bug Juice) that really made for stealthy movement through the jungles and kept the leeches and other critters out of your boots and pants.

If I'm wearing it over armor the compass and GPS are staying on my 2nd line gear. If I'm out on the sneaky sneaky with the boys, the Compass and GPS will go in one of my pockets on my cammi top. I probably won't even wear this on a long patrol or a stalk, I'll just stick with the good old H-harness for that. I had it in mind to use it for urban and convoy stuff mostly.

And no I don't carry first aid supplies...550 cord and riggers tape can fix any holes the bad guys put in me.:D I just got this whole set up last week, so I'm still figuring where I want to put everything. My teams SOP is to cram 2 isreali bandages and 2 tournequets into our left shoulder sleeve and one IV kit in the day-pack per two men and thats it.

And yes NDD, I am trying to get the internal holster for it. They seem to be all spoken for at the moment though...damn war, can't find good kit anywhere these days!!!

Sir...I had read this in a book (somewhere) before...and being the HS/LD SF medical person that I am...thought this was a great idea.
Sooooooo...surplus store leggings were bought (for me first as the guinea pig) and about 18 hours later I was chemical burned to misery up both ankles and lower legs. Made for much humor for YEARS it seemed. "Oh sure, good idea Doc...remember that time with your leggings and bug juice idea???"
Different bug juice in the 80's and 90's vs SRV???
I tried it again last year with the new petroleum based "bug lotion"...impregnating the canvas leggings...for Vietnam and Laos, but the familiar tingle and burn started after about 8 hours on the hump...
Of course, I could just be soft:confused:

Long story...short question...
Did you guys ever have any reaction to the chemicals or was that really a low priority discomfort compared to the benefit of critterless legs and your general environment???
